i mean, these ssds are cleary fake, if u want buy something legit, try to look the store and reviews fr buyers

ssd softwares of the companies do not read fake ssds' so u can understand it is fake

Chinese electronic goods are full of deception, many irresponsible people just want to make as much profit as possible.

AliExpress doesn't ban these sellers. If they would actively ban them, there wouldn't be that many of them.

Im old enough to have paid $300 (on sale at Fry's) for a 1gb hard drive to add to my screaming fast Pentium 90 running Windows 95.
Actually, I'm even older. I learned to program in Basic on on a Tandy 8088 and how to write to & read data from punch cards. And how torroid memory coils were wound, assembled in a course in college.

It isn't from a reputable retailer (sans AMAZON) is a pretty good indicator...

I was going to buy a suspicious 1tb sata ssd on Ebay from a Chinese seller and I asked the seller if it was fake and he straight up told me they were. Some sellers will only tell you the truth if you pry for it, and even then they speak in a sort of riddle to avoid directly answering the question but they answer it non the less.

Have had one of those 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD's. Complained to seller who did not listen. Opened dispute with Aliexpress and after some forth and back I got my money back, but Aliexpress did NOT acknowlegde the drive was fake. SHAME ON YOU ALIEXPRESS!

Always contact the seller first. Tell them you are going to use h2testw software to test speed and capacity and ask them if it's fake you will get a refund without returning item. If you get a clear response agreeing they will refund without return then its most likely ok. If they give polite but not agreeing response like don't worry friend is good. Then it's fake.

Im so happy i saw your video and i can say that this sounds so right by the way the chinese sellers deal with sales and disputes being a buyer from AliE for more than 10 years, now i only buy low value stuff (cases, stickers, screen protectors) its not worth buying anything of value from AliE

In this case "SSD" stands for Shitty Scam Device. Never buy anything from chinese dealers when you plan to store important data on it!

That is not correct! I do own 2 Samsung 980 Evo Plus 1T SSDs and there are Samsung 980 Evo, too. But the packaging in the video didn't look original at all.

Closing the dispute ( which you never have to do is as a customer ) is The best advice !!!!

why are you calling them samsung or western digital? they look similar but there are no branding on the ssds...I was worried that the branded wd and samsung ones on aliexpress were fake.

How do I know which is fake and real when shopping locally?

There's many places online to buy good, reasonably priced computer parts. Myself, since I have a computer store less than 20 minutes from me, I rather prefer to shop there for my parts, in case I have a problem or issue, I can go back there for help.

The Chinese even sell rice who actually is plastic garbage....Just look how they behave when they go abroad( not all of them but majority).........

well ... I have to say it about that.. you bouth that gpu and it died after 1 month of use sadly and is kinda unlucky so , I bough a GTX 1660S for 150$ from aliexpress in april this year and after 4-5 months it works perfectly fine (before changing the termal paste and termal pads after one month of use because it starts heating to much [80*C] ) so...what I mean is that they are not all fake is just random luck and you have to be carefull at what you want to buy

I say every person who watches this video should go buy one of these drives. Then refund it because it's fake. AliExpress needs to have a better grip on what's being sold on their platform.

I almost fell for a ssd, as there are many reviews with five stars. Either the reviewers are ignorant OR fake.
You saved me good 30-40 USD and most of all, saved from the embarrassment.

Too easy I wont buy anything off AliExpress just for that reason and the Company knows full well a lot of what stock from vendors is fake. Typical Chinese attitude towards their customers

FYI, aliexpress now take deposit from new store before allowing them to do business on their platform, deposit are ~5000USD - 8000USD. its actually not cheap to be listed on aliexpress anymore.
So scammer runs the risk of losing their deposit.

easy, I only buy no names on aliexpress, if it has any recognized name it's probably fake xD Heck, I only buy no name or 2nd/3rd tier brands SD cards even locally because getting something like samsung or sandisk you get 50% chance to get a fake, no one is gonna bother faking brands like patriot, goodram or DSP xD
