Hi Kevin, I recently found your channel and you are a wealth of information! Thank you so much for sharing! I am a very new gardener. Last year I started my seeds in the house, then moved them to bigger pots still in the house. We have full sun in the front, so it was great, they did well. My husband purchased a greenhouse for us, and I moved them to it . They all did great, until an unexpected freeze, and I lost my tomatoes, which I chose to grow inside the greenhouse. We have quite a deer population here, and I just would love to get to the point of everything just inside the greenhouse. We have 8 acres in Georgia, I just don't want to put anything outside if possible. My question is, and this may be a stupid one, but everything will grow inside the greenhouse? Provided I know what I'm doing haha. Thank you again for all your information, which I much need. I know this is a learning process for sure! Thanks again

Every time I soaked pea seeds overnight they rotted. Direct sowing worked 100% of the time for me.

Kevin, you can just shaved off the outer green part of the stem on Chinese broccoli, and do the same thing with regular broccoli stem. Cut into small slices, and stir fry them.

Even better than recycled plastic for trays is cutting and using old ~20oz (600mL) bottles as the seed starting cells. Free (if you drink bottled liquid or get it from a neighbor) and sturdy. Unfortunately for the planet those bottles don’t tend to degrade or break easily, which makes them great for seedlings fortunately for the thrifty gardener.

In your earlier videos you seem to have been more conservative and gave more DIY tips and explaining what you do and what you use but ALSO gave alternatives for those like me that cannot afford spending $19.00 for one 6 cell starting tray. I understand that your videos may be sponsored but it saddens me to have to stop watching a channel where everything that is being used is way expensive for a new gardener or a gardner who just cannot afford the name brand expensive stuff. I get you want people to buy the items from your store so you can make money although, I have seen your early videos you made when you just started posting. Just a suggestion for those new coming to your channel, if you want people to keep coming back to your channel, you want them to feel like your videos are being posted Bexar you really are trying to help give good advice or information. I know, if i don't like your channel i can watch go watch another channel, although I would want someone to tell me on what am outsiders perception is and how viewers may feel you are only business now and no longer just trying to help, which is okay if this is how you are now making your living. I guess i am just disappointed that your online store is for me is priced very high for someone who is just starting out. If i has not been doing my own research and started with this video and seen the product needed to start, i would say forget it and not know there are so many alternatives or DIY tips.

after 3 days or so, i noticed some sort of white cottony cobwebs covering my seed tray surface. starting mix is new, not water-drenched coz i just sprayed it with water. i think it's common problem with seeding trays with plastic cover. any thoughts on this issue? thanks.

PRO-TIP: you can take a 10 x 20 Cells Tray, and cut it into 6-Cell Trays with a pair of scissors. :)

If you were to take the tray vertically (20 high, 10 wide), you would cut 2-row & 3-columns twice, then end with 2-columns & 3-rows.
Repeat until you've got your 6-cell trays. You can get up to 16 6-Cell Trays with that method, you'll be left with 2 spare cells.

It's cheaper than buying individual 6-cell trays (30-40% on average).

Wish I would of started sooner. So far I have black raven and Boston fern and man am I enjoying it. Today I plan on doing my first germination, can’t wait! I have been using this method for several years now. TRICK TO USE TO PULL THE PLUGS OUT TO TRANSPLANT TO LARGER POTS IS USING A DINNER FORK. A dinner fork allows you to pop the plugs out quickly and they stay whole. I don't use this brand 6 cells, I use an other companies heavy duty 6 cell trays. Boot Strap. This propagation type 6 cells, I would be interested in trying.

Been growing seedlings for 20 years and have evolved a simpler method. I have collected hundreds of hard plastic small (3"and 4.5") potting cups WITH LABELS. No constant replanting, easier to water and display (I have several shelves with plastic heating pads in front of large windows). The 4.5 pots are for seeds too tiny to plant 2-3. These are the only ones I later separate. Bell peppers do better planted in pairs so it's easy having two seeds. Like your videos. Planting in five minutes because tomatoes and peppers are blooming inside.

This year I've been using 3oz disposable cups with holes poked in the bottom with a small screwdriver, set in plastic kitchen drawer baskets that fit 12 of those cups without much wiggle room. It makes it easier to deal with potting up or transplanting at a small scale, and spotty germination doesn't leave your tray half full so you're not wasting space on empty cells.

Yes sir I would like to start my tomato seeds Outdoors. Is that something that would hurt or harm the seedlings? I don't have or want expensive grow lights instead, and I don't have a place to put grow lights and seedlings indoors. As long as I put them out in the morning and bring them in at dusk I think it would work what do you think?
