All tactical shotgun classes should be taught with the students wearing P.J.’s top and bottom, bedroom slippers and bathrobes. Period.
If you hear “a bump in the night,” this is the outfit that you are rolling out in to check it out.
Grab a shotgun and sniff around. Maybe one out of ten will put on their Walker or Peltor hearing pro first.
Me personally? I got six shells in the 870, and six more in a side saddle. After I grab my shotgun I slip my Walker hearing pro on my ears and I turn them on with my left hand. If I can’t solve a home defense problem in 12 shells then I got a much bigger problem than just a bump in the night.
Cruiser Carry to loaded, barrel tipped up as much as I can manage as I cruise around. First shell is always some form of bird shot for widest pattern to stun or fix an invader, follow up shots are choked Buck shot.
It’s not the streets of Mogadishu, I don’t need 2-3 Velcro speed loader panels, it’s my living room, kitchen, front yard, backyard, car port, tool shed or garage. No-Fire Zones are my kid’s bedrooms and the bedroom I rolled out of.
Non-filtered weapon light is a must.
If you wake up wearing glasses then you are taking classes and shooting wearing glasses.
Train as you “wake up” to fight.
Thanks for the video!
I’m late to the game here but I loved this format, Chris. Grazie!
ОтветитьDon’t ever play gay chicken with Steve!
ОтветитьExcellent format! Thank you!
ОтветитьI'm glad to know as a shitty poor apartment dweller my buckshot selection was correct lol
ОтветитьIf the accessories rattle off and self eject, don't put them on there.
ОтветитьSteve is a great guy and a good friend. Glad to see you feature him.
ОтветитьCan’t tell you how much I respect & appreciate all your content. I’m one of those rare guys on the left that happens to own a few firearms. It seems every gun related video I watch …. well, they all seem to have a political tinge. So it is so refreshing to address the issues in an adult & comprehensive manner. Thank you. (but I’ll still keep my zombie gun - lol)
Ответить3" magnum BB turkey load out of a full choke is a good way to maximize damage and minimize over penetration for close range home defense
ОтветитьWhat shotgun is he using?
ОтветитьGreat interview! Nothing good comes free.
ОтветитьInteresting to me is that it's equip fail that he stated off with. Since, to me, with perceived predominance of pump actions, that 'short stroking not starting point. Never had a equip fail with mine, but, it's just plain Jane, not 'pimped out. Would have gotten razzed unmercifully if did that with what used for hunting rabbits - still like Elmer Fudd 'hunting wabbits'.
ОтветитьExcellent!
ОтветитьMy Semiautomatic Shotgun is having problem ejecting shells. What are the possible reasons for this problem and how can it be fixed?
Ответить#4 buckshot is a damn chainsaw. Extremely deadly.
Ответить223 and 12 gauge are two of the most versatile rounds for country folk, but 12 gauge offers large game stoppage.
ОтветитьSo my question is . If you went thru basic training do you really need training? I just got my first shotgun. Spent a lot of time running glocks and obviously I know an m4 inside out
ОтветитьThx, good
ОтветитьSteve was a great instructor at Thunderstick Summit.
ОтветитьMy problem is the hallway from the master bedroom points straight to my daughters bedroom. Guess the only option is to run from my bedroom to the end of the hallway.
ОтветитьThis gentleman is practical. I like his style
ОтветитьI still find it interesting how penetration is measured using large Clear ballistics blocks with no objects or other mediums inside of them. The human body has a variety of different tissues, and bone. It's not 12" thick, is it just tested like that because it's cheap, or does it take that much to simulate the way The human anatomy reacts to such forces?
ОтветитьYeti!
ОтветитьYes, more of that type of format, very informative
ОтветитьIn person in better.
ОтветитьNo questions just that for home defense I choose my bullpup 12 gauge. Not any longer than a Mossberg shockwave.
ОтветитьSteve is a great guy and an awesome trainer. He is not trying to sell you a bunch of crap you don't need. he gives it to you straight
ОтветитьQuite Informative ! Yes, More Please ! Sounds Like A Much Needed Class For Most Of Us !!!
ОтветитьI have to imagine that if mag tube extensions are rattling loose that it's installer error..
ОтветитьDon't be lazy! Point blank.
Nice format.
Love the content.
Don't be lazy!! Damned straight. Pattern your gun. Make sure it's hitting where you're looking. Get dummy rounds and practice reloads in the dark and lighting, lighting, lighting.
ОтветитьHe’s right. I do spend more time online then on the range. But he’ll I’m in northern Canada. It’s freaking cold on the range 😂 I’m not 25 in the Canadian Army shooting prone in the snow at -35° anymore.
ОтветитьSteve is an amazing instructor! His shotgun course is on my wishlist for sure.
ОтветитьGreat fucking video.
ОтветитьEsstac shotgun cards, Streamlight TL Racker forend, XS big dot front sight, 2 point adjustable sling. Boom! Perfect, simple, reasonable prices.
ОтветитьSteve Fisher looks like Mel Gibson meets King Leonidas! Great interview!
ОтветитьWhat is the longest prolonged firefight with 00buck lol
ОтветитьI live in California. Gee, I wish I could buy ammo from you. Thanks for all the information you provide.
ОтветитьGreat video. Would like to see more of this style. Thanks for the content.
ОтветитьReal life Barry Burton
ОтветитьGood QA. Good info. Except the free stuff on the interwebs. I get the best info I can from trusted people like you. The rest I have to teach myself. I’m too poor. Thanks for all you do.
ОтветитьLove the interview. Almost nothing replaces the hands on training, especially from such a highly qualified instructor!
ОтветитьFor a second I thought Chris said "low life shooting" 😂
ОтветитьGreat information
ОтветитьWhere are these classes happening?
ОтветитьIt's great to see when Chris provides us with some insight of the classes that he has taken. He expands our perspective of the different types of training that is available for different types of firearms. I yet don't have a defensive shotgun so I would have loved to have gotten Steve's perspective on pump action vs semi-auto. I heard that semi-autos can have more issues than pump-action, but that would be another interesting video from Chris Baker. Is a semi-auto more reliable than a pump action or is it the other way around, or is it the lack of training that makes the shotgun lock up?
ОтветитьEverything Steve said is solid gold there. Excellent video. I agree, take a class. I have one scheduled for February! I My last one, different crew / company, and really looking forward to this one. I have been shooting shotguns since I was a kid. I learned combat shotgun fist in the USMC at age 19. I am 61 and still training. Stay safe and stay frosty all you shotgun enthusiasts.
ОтветитьPractice, practice, practice, practice and practice some more then go take more classes . Using any gun you own should become second nature .
