Notice the politically correct females front and center thrown in with the men --- unlike with previous generations in the military. No wonder young men are no longer joining the woke military. Today's military deserves to be hurting in recruitment!

What do they do with the items that they put in the trays. If they aren’t returned at the end of training then it’s technically stealing.

Crazy that it’s been 13.5 months since I arrived to 120th BN at Jackson. It’s a very foggy memory but I made some good friends while at reception before even going to my BCT company.

Wow these young men & women have it easy 30 years ago at Basic they came into the Barracks no warning whatsoever & dump our sh@t all over the floor yelling at us non stop & if you had a picture of your girlfriend oh boy "The Dear John Jokes" came out Lol. Weak & not doing these recruits any favor by being soft.

This is pathetic. Drill instructors are so sensitive and have absolutely no sense of urgency. You’re training war fighters, not daycare. No wonder the Army is so undisciplined and can’t handle the effects of war. Embarrassing.

That’s depressing, all that ridiculous nonsense to take a poverty level job, McDonald’s job’s would be more productive and profitable. I guess losers like them would be happy with a minimum wage job.

Don’t take anything with you. If it’s something you’re gonna need for the next 9+ weeks they will make sure you have it. Otherwise you probably won’t be allowed to have it.

When it’s grad week, just tell your parents, family member, wife, husband, whoever, to bring what you want to take to AT/AIT with them when they come see you graduate. If you have no one coming to see you graduate, wait until you get your pass for the day, and go buy whatever you need at a PX. At AT/AIT you’ll eventually get to go off base on weekends, if you are lucky. At that point you can start buying wants and not just needs. But I would still recommend stowing any wants until you are completely finished and sent back home (guardsman/reservists) or to your new home (active.)

Sure, the guy is calm, and
nice. Teaches nothing about managing stress and how to think clearly in stressful environments. There’s been a massive pussification of our armed forces. But hey, maybe the future of warfare is just respectful debate.

I did basic at Jackson many years ago. We were hauled in a cattle trailer like meat because that was what we were at day one. No DS spoke without screaming until we reached a classroom. This so called shake down isn't stressful at all, it's like an empty church. All personnel training to fight for this country and be dependable to each other should be able to handle stress that is off the charts and still make rational decisions. This is what makes soldiers that never give up.
