🏆 Great insightful video 🏆
ОтветитьAs I've grown older, these concepts have one by one come to me, always feeling like a natural progression.
Ответить„I finally have the body I want. It's easy, actually, you just have to want a really s#!tty body.“
- Louie CK
This is a very good video. 👍 Thanks
ОтветитьThis reminds of the movie, “Bedazzled” with Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Frazier.
ОтветитьThis channel is nothing short of excellent. Keep making content, it is very much appreciated.
ОтветитьTHIS IS ADVAITA VEDANTA PHILOSOPHY OF HINDUISM
ОтветитьThe true stoic sage would be the sun god.
ОтветитьPerhaps the best dis in history.
ОтветитьWhat Seneca said 150 years ago was written in Bhagvan Gita, a sacred Hindu book, in 200 BCE
In Gita there is a term ‘sthithpragy’ which is stoicism and much more. It means that great human beings neither get too excited by success, nor they get dejected by failures.
Feels gr8 to have ur mindset validated by gr8 men
ОтветитьThe Stoic Sage would be more God than man, perfectly content in the bull of Phalaris...
cough Jesus cough cough LOL.
I agree with some of it but it seems a little..... idk
ОтветитьIsn't it sad to live in a world where everyone is such an emotional clown that showing any level of control is assumed to be psychopathic?
ОтветитьThank you so much for your videos.
ОтветитьI just discovered Stoicism, and I've never seen a philosophy I've identified with more. My life has been hell, but I find fortitude in it. I've found that playing games, I always tend to be very tanky characters. You stand at the front, bearing all the pain with a laugh and a taunt, having your enemies bear down on you.
Of course, gaming also provides a good bit of insight into the idea for the analogy as well... Eventually, most people will be worn down by the stresses that stoics can endure, but the accepting life's pleasures is also accepting that there needs to be a healer behind a tank to relieve the pain before the stoic buckles.
I heard they valued "Temperance" before, and it was really the only thing that prevented me from fully vibing with the idea, since I regularly enjoy intoxicants and small pleasures, But how you describe it with the idea that you'd be just as content without, that totally made sense to me, having been sober for months at a time without even thinking about it.
I think the closest to a true, living Stoic is the Dalai Lama
ОтветитьToo bad in this day, Stoicism is mostly dead.
ОтветитьI love this channel so much. Is there a list of the amazing art work you show in the videos? Please.... :)
ОтветитьStoicism is the bad copy of "Bhagavad-Gita"
ОтветитьSelf imposed slavery! 👍 Most of people say it’s a conspiracy and we are modern slaves. 🤦🏻
ОтветитьSeems to me Jesus Christ was the first and only Stoic Sage.
ОтветитьStoicism is a joke in this modern day..none of them would believe it today but would promote critical theory while traveling home to their lavish homes..

ОтветитьThank you for this impressively well done introduction to the doctrine that has changed my life.
ОтветитьChristianity is unique, not a philosophy but the way
ОтветитьThe message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.
You find in Hinduism and Buddhism those who have achieved Nirvana. They are comparable to what a Stoic sage would be.

ОтветитьThis is good. Could we say that Jesus was the ultimate divine stoic Sage?
Ответить"It's a mountain to climb, not a pit to fall into."
Priceless wisdom.
What happened to learning western culture in America!? Seriously it makes me sad that I’ve learned soo much more on my own after spending the most formative years of my life in a school system that taught me to be obedient and not ask questions it’s just devastating
ОтветитьSounds like the stoics are talking about Buddhism. And the stoic sage would be the Buddha
ОтветитьI’m 38. I never knew there was a whole philosophy around what inside I always felt to be true. This is great
Ответитьthis is buddism lol,,, they called the indians gymnosophists naked philosopher
ОтветитьYou are no god. This need to exalt yourself is pathetic.
ОтветитьIf you look into Natures eyes and do not see the supernatural within. Then you are blind. You try to keep god out and just call him other names denying the conciousness of the universe, you are a fool.
ОтветитьThis channel has completely changed my life. I no longer know weak will, I can confidently present myself to the world and I now strive to better myself and those around me! Keep up the good work!!!
ОтветитьThe Logos is the principle of the universe by which the universe was made and created. In the beginning was the Logos and the Logos was with God and the Logos was God. Thank you.
ОтветитьMEANINGWAVE EXISTS!!
ОтветитьWhat happened to Chryssipus’ stuff?
ОтветитьIslam basically teaches us Muslims stoicism.
Ответитьholy fucking shit... I thought I was on to something for a while. The soft determinism concept. I saw this point of contention in some assumptions made in western life. Things like "you can be whatever you want" vs "You need to pick a career, take on responsibility." etc. So I was thinking that the free-will/determinism argument is both true. You're born into a body with limited capabilities, while you are still limitless in life outcomes because you can pick any of the infinite paths left within your grasp. Whatever, I guess I'm a few millennia late or whatever haha.
ОтветитьThank you. Concise and very instructive.
Ответить“Whatever happens to you had been waiting to happen since the beginning of time.” is very similar to the mantra i try to live my life by: “whatever happens, happens”
i’ve been learning about stoicism recently and while i’m not ready to call myself someone who practices it, the ideas and beliefs seem very similar to how i would like to (but don’t necessarily *do*) carry myself and go about life
Ahistorical narrative this.
