Wow first time watcher and can I just say hats off to Matt and Sam these last sessions! I know Sam was kind of unprepared and had to improvise and yet still in such a short time and while still sorely missing Scanlan I love Taryon already haha.

It’s so fascinating how when Scanlan left he was probably on the worst terms with Percy, yet Sams new character bonds with Percy pretty much instantly. :D

I love how much Sam/Taryon boosts Marisha's/Keyleth's confidence here by treating her like the respected leader. I know she was getting so much flack from the community and people just saying outright mean things, and it really did bring her spirits down. But here he is, lifting her up and making her feel good about herself. Sam is truly a gem of a man <3

I think Sam is also enjoying the change of scenery from playing Scanlan to Taryon. Both foolish kinds of characters but Tary doesn't have crippling depression/Bipolar disorder that no one caught on to until it was too late. Playing/writing those kinds of characters really do take a toll after a bit and I'm glad Sam got to switch it up ^_^

I know I’m super late to watching this, but I just have to say that Sam Riegel is insanely talented. First his time playing Scanlan up to this episode was amazing and had me falling in love with his character. When he left the show I was truly wondering how I would keep watching without him. But, Sam Riegel has absolutely nailed the character of Tarryon and somehow might be a funnier character than scanlan.

Not a coincidence the water elemental went towards Grog. DMing 101. Give the barbarian player a big monster bruiser to smash and he's happy. Let the other players do the crazy stunts with everyone else because they like that.

Im starting to really love Taryon. He's like the perfect glass cannon. He has so much power at his disposal but doesnt have knowledge or experience to back it up. Really interesting character choice. Plus seeing Taryon and Sam figure out how to use their class effectively in real time is very funny. Its like art imitating life

How stupid was Marisha trying to drown a fishman and sink both ships including her own....lol

Man, the Darington arc is gonna be so fun to see animated in Vox Machina lmao

It's very funny to watch these episodes long after it came out and think "none of these sponsors or shows they talk about are around anymore"

The way Sam and Tals characters are hitting it off at the beginning of the episode made me think Sam just wanted to befriend Tal more

Keyleth and Tarybean can water-breathe, searching quickly as they can to find prisoners (etc), without risk to themselves to getting out "on time".

Tary can be silly, but he has a real respect for Keyleth, her abilities & leadership skills. Not knowing her very long - the fact that he sees this inspire of her self doubt and writes about it - in fact I don't know if he writes a whole page about any of Vox Machina - even Percy. Shows his admiration. It's touching.
It's not the first time he comments on her power and leadership - He mentions again to Pike & is like ok Tary, learn her name!!?
