We need to fight for laws that hold SS workers accountable when they fail a child and that child is further neglected or unfortunately as much as we see far worse that they are criminally charged and punished. Perhaps then they’ll actually do the job they are paid to do. This has been going on far too long and there has yet to be any reform and the only changes are the astronomical amount of children being long forgotten and buried

I think the ex husband was involved. They probably traded the little girl to the one cousin who was home at the time for drugs. They should've tested that mattress. I live outside of Lenoir and our "newspaper" rehashed the case on the front page every single day. I will never forget the day the bloody mattress was hauled out of the dump that is @ 10 miles or so from my house. At the time Zara was "missing" (her prosthetic leg was found on the road where my best friend lives) I was making trips to Va. to see my granddaughter via 4D ultrasound. The 1st question everyone asked me every month was about Zara. As if I could tell them more than the "news" channels! I was, and am, angry that the father got away scot free. There's NO WAY he didn't notice what was going on with his daughter!

A new story of parents torturing their kids everyday lately. Just awful.

Here's yet another case that CPS failed a child. They got multiple reports of abuse but did NOTHING! The father truly sickens me. If, & that's a big if, he didn't know what was going on, he should have. He just got lucky to not be sitting in prison too, because he should be! When that NASTY, EVIL WITCH said she missed Zahra I believed her, she misses having a victim to assault & torture. If any1 ever deserved a life without parole sentence, it's her.

Adam was her "father" he was Zara's legal guardian. He was suppose to protect his daughter at all costs. The fact that his excuse is that he was at work all day and didn't see his daughter because she was asleep before he left and also when he returned home so he didn't know what was happening at the hands of his "wife" is complete Bull ****. The fact that CPS was called and apparently investigated the complaints, or the fact that they moved evertime people confronted the witch he allegedly married. Or the fact that he can't or won't answer the question about when he last saw Zara alive. Or how about the fact that she fighting cancer and as her "father' should have been making medical decisions for her and showed her more concern about how she was doing. Or just left her home with her grandparents and family and friends that loved her and cared about her well being and happiness.

There's absolutely no way he didn't know exactly what types of abuse or the severity of the abuse Zara was going through at the hands of his "wife". And he allowed it to happen and I m of the opinion he participated in the abuse and Zara's murder as well as dismembering and throwing Zara away like trash. He is even more guilty because he was suppose to protect Zara.

And his acting like a victim himself while playing like he's clueless is appalling. He's not convincing and frankly he's a disgrace and a coward.

Zara I'm sorry you didn't have the love and protection you deserved when you lived in the United States. You over came so much more than many adults do and you did it with a positive attitude that you passed on to others. I'm sorry you weren't able to just be a kid while you were here and spread your positivity here to. I know if you were allowed to you would have changed the world, one community at a time. I know you have changed the world even in death.

Elise shows true signs of narcissistic personality. The father neglected his daughter and didn’t get her the healthcare she required with medical histories she possessed. It is not too far fetched to say that possibly Zhara did pass due to the metastasis of cancer. If and when she was found unresponsive 911 should have been called then chest compression to keep blood flowing to her brain. These people were so negligent and both deserve nothing less than life imprisonment.

I think that "sperm donor" (He doesn't deserve to be called a dad!) should be in prison right along with his gf!! He could have left Zahra with their loving family in Australia where she had FREE health care which she needed for her cancer treatments. He is so selfish for moving her across the world just to sit there and act like he don't know his evil gf is hurting her and ends up killing her!! 😢💔😡 Great job telling Zahra's story Annie!! We love to go to the park that was dedicated to her, I lived in Catawba county my whole live until last year. Its a smaller town and this case is what really got me into True Crime 14 years ago! She went thru hell with her health issues and then her evil ass step mom came into her life. I hate that woman and her dad with everything I have inside me. I watched them demolish the house that this happen at. There was so many people around that day, lots of stuffed animals around for her.

This was massive news here in Australia. Zahra's Dad's family made Emily out to be a deadbeat mum, but that was not the case. His parents continually lied to Emily, saying they didn't know their whereabouts, yet they were living with them the whole time!
I honestly believe that he had a LOT MORE involvement with Zahra's death - especially considering that her mother had FINALLY tracked them down, and wanted to see her daughter. The the ming is just way too suss for my liking.
May Zahra rest in peace, because she certainly didn't get it in life! And my love and regards to her mum, Emily, and those friends and family who TRULY loved Zahra. 💖😘🙏🇭🇲
