I think mensturating people should just do whatever they want. Rest, dont rest, isolate, dont isolate.

The best thing that happened to me was at 37 my uterus was removed. 🎉 I still had my ovaries so everything was normal. It was so great never to have a period again or take birth control pills.
Women should be allowed to request a partial hysterectomy .

Ohh, I remember the sanitary belt! Somehow, no matter HOW you cinched the thing up, adjusted, tugged, shoved... it never really fit! If shifted back and forth, and when the napkin was filled, the edges would dry out and form little "knives" that sawed away at one's tender bits! Between 1963 and 68 I fought with those horrible belts. Finally, I sneaked to purchase tampons. First brand I bought wss O.B. the ones without an applicator. Mama was aghast! I was now "ruined" according to her. PFFFT! I had to deal with periods, endometriosis and near catastrophic flooding from menarch to age sixty! Menopause was an absolute blessing!!

I’d like to get the red tent back as an option. Trying to make it all feel and appear as if it’s not happening doesn’t carry the same amount of feminist value I think it originally did (yay capitalism). Because now it feels compulsory to try and hide it, swerve it, and otherwise control it. Man…..I just wanna squat in the dark over some straw (sans panties) and finish my crochet project. Don’t touch me, don’t even look at me. Just run me my mikvah and gtfo of my way. Freedom to choose is freeing.

In islam, women are also known as unclean during their period. Sex, touching Quran, entering mosques or holy places, are all not allowed till she bathes after the period. She is also not allowed to do prayers.

From what I recall from a speech I once attended by a female Stanford Doctor/drug researcher, it wasn’t until the late 1980’s that drug trials actually included women for it was STILL thought women’s hormonal changes would ruin the drug trials set up by pharmaceutical companies.

I was raised in a Sri lankan family, for us when we have our first period we need to seclude ourselves from the outside world. Meaning I can't go to school or interact with any men, this includes any brothers or my father (my mum didn't make me do this but she tricked my relatives into believing I locked myself away so that they wouldn't make a fuss) then after the periods done, we need to shower in water filled with flowers and wear a white gown to show that we are pure now and re-enter the house and we get given gold jewlery and things we inherit as the lady of the house. We only do this for when you first get it though as a tradition of sort. Talking about periods openly is looked down upon but because I moved countries, I get to talk more about it and have more knowledge of it, so I'm grateful for that.

I believe that men need to stay out of female menstrual cycles because they have no idea what affects/effects it has on a woman's body , soul or, Spirit.
I think a woman should have not to work or cook during this time. It should be a time of rest and reflection of her own life.
I think the Red tent would have been wonderful growing up.
I was 12 year's old.
I don't think a woman should have to pay for their menstrual supplies either.
I believe it is the body just getting rid of the uterus tissue formed for her to show that she is able to get pregnant. If conception doesn't happen it rids itself of it.
A natural cycle for women.
A hormone change takes place and it can change a woman's attitude just before and after so isolating with other women would be a good thing. Men should be greatful that women have their menstrual cycle and give them respect and space.

Idc what anyone says … our period really does change our mood and at times is debilitating…. There really should be special treatment in the workforce for woman during this time… and by special treatment I mean we should be allowed to have at least 3 days off IF needed … of course I understand all the in between issues and reasons why this hasn’t been already done... but finding a mutual compromise I think is necessary and possible…

Being disturbed by blood can be understandable. However, being disgusted by periods in general is stupid.
Women are not able to help their periods and sometimes stuff happens and they need help with something (such as they need someone else to grab them some pads etc).
It should not be a hush-hush topic, we don’t belittle people for needing to take a shit so why should we do that for another bodily function? The only reason they get periods is because they didn’t have a child, it’s not like they’ve done anything on purpose just to “be gross”.

I’ve personally had my fair share of teachers who refused to let me hurry to the bathroom when I felt mine start. In the end I had to yell in the middle of class why I had to leave and he told me to hold it for the last 10 minutes and I’ll be fine. In the end he got a seat with blood on it and I had to find a way to put blood soaked underwear into my bag without staining anything (toilet paper was my final choice).

I wanted to be a genetic engineer since high school after seeing "Blade Runner"(1982) and having to read Aldous Huxley when I had ambitions to replace humanity with a humanoid species so I tried to have Gary Pranzo of New Jersey harvest menstruated ovum ova eggs I could treat with restriction enzymes and electroporate in DNA.

So Gary Pranzo with a staccato said " I don't want your Jurassic Park scheme" for me to reply "space flight is essential given Cube Square law" .

I live in India and can tell it totally depends on the family. Some families are very open and have very few to no rules related to period. Others have a couple of rules to follow, like avoiding cooking ans any heavy work. They can rest and their husband or mothers in law cooks food for the family for 5 days a month 😊 after 5th day is a shower and things go back to regular. I find it actually relaxing. Ps its very normal for husbands to buy pads etc if the woman doesn't qant to go out and feels to relax. Some Temples are prohibited during period. And some are open. It dates back to times when pads where not available and trips to temple quite hard and exhausting. Clothes stained many times so it was avoided. And some other reasons. 🙏🏽💐

The narrator is just going to skip over the torture and experiments done to black woman during slavery? It was the sacrifice of black women slaves for the study and understanding of gynecology and obstetrics. If she going to talk about history, she needs to be 💯!!

People go from one extreme to another. Sometimes women were not allowed to be around others, others refuse to talk about it or find answers to dealing with it, then we come to a point where a cartoon is drawn making it disgusting to see, let alone talk about it. What is wrong with the human race? The human race has put more effort into creating weapons, then just finding answers so people can be productive, comfortable, and happy. Some of the people in the past were just dumb as sticks. If the sun rises and sets every day? This is normal. There is no reason to read anything more into this function. The same should have been said and done with menstruation. Right? Also, in the same line of thinking. If something is dragged across the ground? It wears out, causes pain, and causes more problems than it is worth. In the same way, there is no reason to make something more frustrating. Talk about the problem, find the answers, and get it taken care of. Don't drag it across the ground. Menstruation should have never been turned into the insanity that it has been and/or become. OMG! Major LOL! As far as removing the taxes upon feminine products? It should absolutely be done. Menstruation is not a choice given to women. It is a guarantee. It is necessary for life to exist. Therefore, menstruation products are a necessary part of life, so women, men, and society can function. There is no reason to make people's lives harder with extra burdens upon the financial stability of society. Humans have suffered more than enough. There is no need to add taxes to something that is needed in order for society to function successfully.
