ST. THOMAS AQUINAS: As regards the individual nature, woman is defective and misbegotten, for the active power of the male seed tends to the production of a perfect likeness in the masculine sex; while the production of a woman comes from defect in the active power.
The active power in the male is intended to produce a perfect image of itself, a masculine sex. When a female results it is either because of a weakness in this active power or because of some indisposition of the materials, or even from a change produced by an outside factor – for example, from south winds, which are humid.

It signifies the transmission of his wisdom through his works, teaching, and writing with an antenna between God's word to lead and guide others to a deeper love of God for their salvation and eternal life. That was an excellent introduction to Aquinas. Particularly the context about the 'magister' arguments held over a couple of days as the format for the Summa. Thank you for putting this up for free.

We need a movie on his life.

I learned a lot from Aquinas, but not by reading his Summa. And this is why: what would you say if you asked the way to Saint Thomas, and he began to explain: Well according to mister Averroes you should take this lane and than that and than that. But to get there you need to know this and that. So the first lane of him brings you into a deadgoing street. And he will follow this procedure all the time...
That drives me mad! He is also to lenghty when he comes to the point. F.i. his five ways, that are moreover unimperical and useless in the matter. Why doesn't he simply say that non-existance is a contradictio in terminis, and that therefore there is no possible limit to existence and thus God existence is evident. And THEN you can accuse empirical scolars of rejecting reason...

This story speaks plainly of Bishop Barron’s all consuming fascination with St Thomas, and rightly so. The doctor in our religion is a giant among the saints. I always envied brainy people from my youth. I am but dust in comparison to most people.

Incidentally, that's what the Jews did to CHRIST and doctor of the RCC, thomas aquinas did just that to Protestants.
