Awesome idea!
ОтветитьI was thinking that I would put wood putty on top of the screws, sand it down, and then paint over it.
ОтветитьIt makes me sad you have to do things to prevent some jerks from trying to steal your caches.
Ответитьgood morning . Do you have the connection plants for this cache?
Ответитьtheres one similar near me but instead of using a AA battery thats provided at the cache location, you need to use jumper cables and connect it to your car battery to push out a micro container attached to a antenna
Ответитьhello tim if you want anti theft screws than you shud use torx hollow tip screws and bits or triangular hollow tips those are very hard to get by unless you are a type of builder that knows what it is and where to bye good luck and keep making those awesome caches
ОтветитьI built this today except I didn’t use gears just the spool of string on the main shaft, problem is the cache is borderline a gram too heavy and after it spools up the weight of it drops . How do I fix this?
ОтветитьThat’s so creative! Very well done!
ОтветитьHow much did it cost?
ОтветитьThe solaworm is not available in amazon anymore. Can someone tell me what kind of motor is that so I can buy one?
Ответитьdo you have any geocaches in huntington wv 25705 or think about putting any?
ОтветитьHow does this spin if the dowel is loose?
ОтветитьHi! Have you ever got a gadget cache of yours destroyed or taken down by someone? Because im worried that when i make my first gadget cache someone i going to destroy it! ;(
Ответить200th comment!
ОтветитьThis is great!! Haven't really cached for a year and came across your channel, now the ideas are flowing. How does this cache do in cold weather, I live in Canada and its consistently cold here in the winter.
ОтветитьDid you need permission for a cache like this, thinking of placing a geocache a bit like this?
ОтветитьWhat a great Idea! We'll try to build a motorized cache too ;-)
ОтветитьToo cool!!
ОтветитьSuper cool! Might have to have my husband build one!
ОтветитьDo you cement the post in the ground?
Ответитьgotta love their accents
ОтветитьYou have inspired me!
ОтветитьHow do you get the post into the ground?
ОтветитьPete, insects could come up the slot in the post, but for some reason I haven't had that problem. I did spray the inside of the container with and insect repellant before I added the motor into the cache. That might help to deter them a little. I also caulk the edges on inside.
ОтветитьSwitzerland has now also for searching and testing this cache ....
ОтветитьAs an addition you could provide some cables at the geo cache but without an instruction on how to use them. Use only torx screws to assemble the cache with the exception of one slotted screw (-) and one phillips screw (+). You have to inspect all the screws and connect the cables with the batterie to the right ones in order to unlock the cage :D
ОтветитьNice cache, thanks for posting.
ОтветитьIm glad you use your smarts for good.. :-)
ОтветитьVery nice!
ОтветитьI'm not getting comments, has something to do with google+ settings I'm sure. If you have any questions, please email at [email protected]
ОтветитьVery cool. Would love to put some of these around here in Western MA. Great job! I look forward to viewing more of your vids. I wish I had the drill machines that you have lol.
Ответитьvery well done as always! I can only dream of having the time to re-create your caches!
Ответитьcool
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьGreat work!
ОтветитьDon't think so, really just a country bumpkin who loves to build caches that are fun to solve.
ОтветитьYou are a legend!
ОтветитьThanks, yes I had over 10 of my gadget caches stolen, this was one of them. At one point I was so discouraged I thought of throwing in the towel, but I'm glad I didn't. All my stolen caches are back up, hopefully over the next few months I can start putting out some new caches. I have lots of ideas!!!
ОтветитьAnother awesome gadget cache! I love watching your videos, and I remember reading something about several of your caches being stolen (even so far as to having been ripped out of the ground). I'm glad to see that you're driving on with your awesome work!!
ОтветитьYou should check out my video of a motorized birdhouse geocache I made in June. Almost identical to this. Check it out! :)
ОтветитьAgain.... an awsome one !!!
