If the beer has more than a whiff of bitterness i'm out. Beer is one area of life in which I desire 0% challenge 100% of the time so bring on the barley water and let me get to it. The rest of life more then makes up for it in as Im sure you have all found out.
I do however very much appreciate the sour beer trend that we are currently going through, at least here in Canada. Its like brewmasters are finally listening to drinkers such as myself after the ashtray water hop madness of the last decade and a half that pretty much kept me from spending my substantial dollars in a microbrewery. Im the same way with Wine...Subtle flavour, higher sweetness and low bitterness wins over my heart every single time.

Coors Banquet is a stereotypical beer your grandfather would drink (I’m 37) but since I’m from Texas, the quintessential dad beer is Budweiser.

Honestly, Sam Adams and Yuengling are the only 2 I can stomach from that bunch. Coors Light has to be the single most disgusting beer that Ive had, but then again, it was a close competition,

Well done....enjoyed your light hearted comments...you are "spot on" with your "worst beer" rating. I am not an expert beer taster, but I picked a six pack of Ultra a few years ago and after one sip I concluded I had just purchased a six pack of water with a bit of yellow food coloring. I would have scored it, zero, zero, zero. What a joke...Anheuser-Busch should be sued for false advertising....this stuff is NOT beer.

Coors banquet is decent but coors light has good taste for a light beer but way to fizzy for me. I still prefer miller lite if want to drink light beer, but I don’t drink soda pop very often!

The beer you didn`t try, has been brewed since 1913 in Texas, is listed a a bock, but t`s really a Vienna Lager, and taste better then all the ones you tried, except Sam Adams is Shiner Bock. All of those besides Samuel Adams, are not very good, and sad people actually drink them.

It all matters on a persons taste.

One person may like lots of flavor and lot's may like a little.

The taste of cardboard could be related to the fragrance of cardboard. Is it a wet or dry cardboard note? The wet cardboard note turns up in another of my hobbies - perfumes. Certain elements in Orris root/iris have a similarity and when the element is replaced with a full artificial ingredient the cardboard note sticks out really strongly. In perfume it's usually used to produce a "dry" character and it hits your scent AND flavour receptors. I'll see if I can find the offending ingredient.

I have had all of them in standard form except the YL , BM , Boston and Nara ( as these didn't exist ) back in the 70s and early 80s and found only Pabst Blue Riband drinkable , the rest simply to add liquid and sugar when it was stinking hot . Had the Boston been around I would have drank it as we were stuck in Logan International for 3 days when the DC10s were grounded. Also had one or 2 of the brands , normally Bud at USAF airshows in the UK normally floating around in bins of ice , again drunk when stinking hot or with a rack of ribs oddly served on a slice of white cardboard bread . The US was the largest beer dessert in the world and the Americans were up against it as I was raised on Shepherd Neame , worked with Sheps and Tolly Cobbold as a young teen cellar boy and by mid teens , Waddys , Rayments , Youngs , Greene King , Ridleys and Adnams my usual with a pint or two of Ind Coope Romford Bitter on CAMRA meeting nights . The Americans were great , the land where perfect 10s would throw themselves at you because you spoke differently and even on the piss with the girls or boys , it didn't get better as I never got anywhere near the point where even urine tastes great , I.e. shitfaced . One I did like was in NY state and that's not in the heap . Geneseo Bock from Genesee , probably the closest to a good German bock beer . Good to see the Americans keeping up their standards for the mass market.
A couple I forgot Moosehead in Canada and Dos Equis down South in wetback country . Awful !

We did a blind US macro beer tasting at my office and Miller Lite also came out at the bottom. But it seems like you forgot about it? The Michelob is water but less offensive than the Miller Lite.

All my life, can’t say I know what Coors taste like. Coors light has always been everywhere though. You would never drink a Budweiser, and High Life is nothing as you demonstrate. I will have to try it.

What do you think about Yuengling Black & Tan? I am an Anchor Steam Porter fan, but sometimes I can't find it and Yuenglng's B&T does nicely. In my area I've never had the Yuengling Porter available...at one time about 15-years ago for a short time there was a Yuengling black beer whose name escapes me (I think it had a number like 409, 510, who knows?) that I thought was better than the Black & Tan. Of course most folks want watery beers so I guess I should be glad that Yuengling puts out Black & Tan at a reasonable price and that it's widely available.

I am a Canadian and our macro beers aren't that great to be honest but can be quite strong even for a more regular beer. I do like moose head lager for that you should definitely do a macro beer series for canadian beers. However my favourite beers are Czech as well as english ales and german beer is good too.

Both Hamm's and Lone Star are no longer made by their own brewery. Their names were sold off. Grain Belt is another macro. The Nordeast recipe is good. Those are made by Schell's (macro-craft?). Worth trying them.

im aussie and ive tried PBR and Boston Lager and they were quite pleasant!
id love to see you do an aussie macro review. Australia's market is interesting since a few once smaller breweries (Feral, Little Creatures, White Rabbit) got bought out, Coopers became huge, and James Squire was sorta astrohopped to begin with, so theres a huge commercial interest in Real Ales here.
