The soundtrack of my youth, brings a warmth to my heart to see the banter and the friendship. Wicked musicians and showman!
ОтветитьOf all the music/bands that i have loved ,madness and their music ,style and humour hold the largest spot in my heart
ОтветитьMy adolescence was spent listening to and loving Ska played by Argentine bands that copied the style, clothes, and movements of Madness. Ska and Madness are part of my life and I hope someday to know the streets where it all started.
Ответитьblimey iam 61 now and still love madness one weekend I think it was 81 or could be earlier we went camping to Skegness from the midlands 3 cars and my old man's 8 birth tent strapped to my mate's roof any way we found a field and we were the only ones in it paid are two nights dues put the tent up and went out for knees up we all go nised as a pute all crashed out in the tent and woke up to the sounds of thunder over 500 scooters and tents arrived and we were the only norms we all had leather jackets we all looked at each other and thought we are dead any way I had brought by big boom box with 12-inch speakers so I krept out the tent and got my tape out of the car which I had bought and it was a madness tape I put on one step beyond full blast and all 8 of us did the madness walk and within seconds there were 500 mods doing the same thing following us and dancing i was so glad i brought the tapes with me as we were the bees knees with these guys they looked after us and we had a fantastic time so thanks boys .it was one of the best weekends we ever had as music brought us all together so all the best from john from Rugby UK.
ОтветитьNothing like where I was brought up, I was brought up on the same estate as Boy George, desolate, miles from anything interesting.
ОтветитьOne missing, Barso.
ОтветитьWould've been fabulous if Chas and Mike B were in this
ОтветитьI love the song references and reenactments.
ОтветитьI'm so glad I was young when Madness were young. Best times ever
ОтветитьQuite a thrill for me when Suggs points out where he lay on the road in 'One Better Day'
One of my favourite songs and videos.
Ahhhhhh nostalgia overload, I love this band. Sound of my youth.
Do you guys know Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard ?
"Yeah, you hum it, I'll smash yer face in"
Everyone liked Madness
Well seeing Tommo walks away from the coppers! lol Old habits never die! ;)
ОтветитьOk, now I need to visit Camden Town!
ОтветитьFor the lads, they’re just reminiscing about the good old times. Swapping stories and remembering how they became Madness.
ОтветитьI grew up with the band around Highgate Road. Terry at the start was a mate of mine. He was the skinhead in the clash film rude boy. Pete magee who got arrested was my next door neighbour. Love this video lots of good memories
ОтветитьOMG! CANT BELIEVE CHRIS WAS WEARING A BURGLAR TOP AND THE POLICE DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE!
😂💀
the best
Ответитьwhere's Mike Barson?
ОтветитьCan you imagine walking down the street & seeing the Nutty Boys walking around?
ОтветитьAs a life long drummer in his 40's who still plays in a solid SOLID scene, with 25 and 30 year friends this gets me in the cockles.
If you are ever in Oshawa Ontario Canada?
Look us up
Vaig viure els meus anys de joventud escoltant Madness i vivint les meves nits de festa amb les seves cançons a Barcelona. Encara recordo aquells anys escoltant aquesta mítica banda. Llegendaris Madness. Els millors d'aquella època.
Abans d'aquests tenebrosos temps.
Abans de l'imperi.
Its mad to see so many people walking past the lads and haven’t a clue who they are, brilliant.. I love Camden Town, my favourite place to visit when I’m in London.. Love from Dublin :)
ОтветитьIt's always the base player and drummer thing :)
ОтветитьMissing Chas Smash in 2021
ОтветитьIf Suggs wasnt there, nobody would have a fucking single clue who the other geezers are, but they walking around and waving at people as if they were Elvis.
ОтветитьLoved them then still love them now, come back Carl
Ответитьgreat memories as a kid. when madness came on at the school disco thats when the dudes got up to dance - bless you guys for being there where we needed you and making my childhood bearable and fun... funny how walking through Camden and most folk don't realise they are in the presence of legends...
ОтветитьIt's a bit tough for me as a contemporary of the band seeing how old they look and then realizing I've aged just as much. It seems like a long time ago and it seems like yesterday
ОтветитьIt's Lovely to see that they're all still great friends after over 40 years, and still touring
They've been such a Constant in so many people's lives over the years
Rock on Boy's
Can't wait to see them in November 2021 in Dublin
Jack Vaughan
Tipperary
Ireland
Two different days.
ОтветитьThey look like ex members of the Millwall soccer hooligan firm.
ОтветитьI absolutely loved this ! …love from Dublin xxx
ОтветитьThis was such a great watch and found this really interesting to watch. Hearing them talking about there memories and some of the history of Camden Town. Bit of a question now there is part of a song played in this every time the sticker that says Past Present and Future comes on the screen is played. Does anyone know what this song is called and could let me know please.
ОтветитьThere’s two camps in madness. The geezers and the not geezers. Ha.
ОтветитьStill can't beat Take It Or Leave It.....didn't see it till many years after it was made. I remember when I bought '7' when it came out, the inner sleeve advertised it BUT....how on earth did any people get to see it in 1980/1981?? It wasn't on telly. We didn't have VCRs then....not just yet!
To this day I'm still amazed that right at their peak, they decided to go back and play THEMSELVES in their own 'rags to riches' story. Such a weird move! But hey, I still shove in the DVD and relive those early Madness days.
Why is the bass player "my bad ive forget his name but a lovely guy" n Woody, the drummer walking just those 2... and Lee, Mike n Graham walking together? Should be all of them!! Including Chris! Fantastic band... sung all your song in primary junior school late 70's into 80's thanks lads brilliant.
ОтветитьA major turning point in my young life. 55 now but only 15 then when the Ska revival came along. As a British born of Jamaican heritage we welcomed choons we grew up on. Madness and the Specials, so many memories.
ОтветитьSuggs has got the Micky flanagan . " Pimp walk" lovin it .
ОтветитьWhy am I only finding this channel now 😢I am a massive fan of you guys ..
lots of love and respect from Ireland 🇮🇪
Camden town. What a dump it is. Tourist trap, haven for druggies and dossers, and mostly inhabited by racial, cultural and spiritual aliens now.
No comment from "Madness" however.
Feeling very nostalgic seeing these guys walking through Camden Town.
Spent a lot of time searching for records, clothes and going clubbing mid 80's to early 90s.
Just a great buzz about that place during those years....
Really miss it.
They seem really down to earth different to what I thought !
ОтветитьWhoops
I thought this was a video on mental health treatment through the ages, god damn it! I need to remember and be more precise when searching for videos in future 😩😩
I worked at the Camden Palace in 1985.
ОтветитьThanks to you guys I invested in learning to play the saxophone when I was fourteen. I saw you on Top of the Pops performing One Step Beyond, and off I went to the music department to enrol. 🎷
ОтветитьThe 2 Tarquins kept seperate from the ruffians jolly good.Gertcha.x🥸
ОтветитьDid you get your inspiration from the the British reggae band in 1968 called The cats from Mile End as you have been using there song ever since (Swan lake) ........
ОтветитьIcons in my life 👍
ОтветитьHow similar our cities are, in characters, architecture humour, music, history and blood ties. We have more with than against , Ireland, England.
