Wouldn't you normally teach a horse to back up before you teach it to side pass?
Ответитьhorses are emotional. who knows what they are thinking. maybe he thought you did it wrong, because you'd let him rest for a bit at the fence then you changed it on him. buttons, my mare, is quite empathetic. she's thankful. she's shown concern for humans and animals. i've never seen another horse show as much as she does. i'm sure they are out there.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
ОтветитьDefinitely getting a subscription on your site once the army gives me some time to be home with my horses haha, thanks for the free knowledge though! Greatly appreciate it!
ОтветитьI love watching and learning from your videos,I've had my PRE boy for just over a year. He's a baby,5 now, and I'm an older rider but not too old to keep learning! In fact he's my first horse since I was in my teens.Good things are worth waiting for and I want to get it right! Thanks for sharing on here.
ОтветитьI just want to say how great your videos are. They teach me a lot about horses and the steps to having a great horse. Even my 8 year old sisters has a horse that we've been helping her with in getting comfortable and confident, and one thing she struggles with is anger towards the horse and that was a perfect example when the horse hopped spring and you calmly took control and was assertive but wasn't "mean" or aggressive you just directed and led the horse to the right answer! Great video!
ОтветитьWarwick, you are one of my top 2 respected trainers and one of the only 3 I know of I would let put their hands on my horse. One of the things I like most about you and Neil Davies is the horse acts out a little and it's no big deal. No need to whip some horse butt just to show what a big man you are. Most of you know how to get the behavior you want but too many let their egos interfere. Especially when dealing with colts and stallions. I guess it's a macho thing? IDK. You tell me.
ОтветитьYou should change it to leg-yield
ОтветитьI would think that, a missed opportunity to use leg pressure up front w/ whip as reinforcement to move the front shoulder over.
Ответитьits funny how only videos where there is good info about horses, teaching and behavior are western riders lol (i ride english)
Ответить☺😊😀😁😂😃😃😄😅😆😇😈😉😯😐😑😕😠😬😡😢😴😮😣😤😥😦😧😨😞😩😰😟😟😱😲😳😵😶😷😞😒😍😛😜😝😋😗😙😘😚😎😭😌😖😪😔😪😏😓😫
ОтветитьAs usual, your videos are excellent and understandable! Thank you for showing a rider view, it is so much easier to understand when we can see what you are doing!!!
ОтветитьWOW!!!! Don't remember seeing you use head camera before. Such a great help to see hands being used " up close & personal ". All I have is small phone to watch ur videos. Hopefully that'll change soon. But we know how IMPORTANT it is to use hands correctly!! Thanks & hope to see head camera a lot when necessary for the lesson
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьGood
ОтветитьWhat comes next? After getting the sideways movement to a halt do you progressively ask for more steps before coming to a halt?
ОтветитьI really like when you show us what your hands are doing. It's hard to see that from a distance. Thanks.
ОтветитьGREAT trainer, thank you
ОтветитьThe realty is horses cannot bend more than one 16th of an inch laterally in their spinal vertebra between their withers and 1st lumbar.. So shuvving your inside leg into their side in order to somehow cause them to bend laterally away from your active leg is a fallacy..And always has been. You are seeing an optical illusion and more importantly watching an optical illusion.
best
