How to Reset a Newer Maytag or Whirlpool Washing Machine (Factory Calibration Mode)

Lowes purchase plan Contractor just left and he didn't even do this. He just said he's going to place an order for a replacement.

Ok after the recalibration it's still blinking Sense, Done, .

What can I do from here?

Worked perfectly after I replaced the lid lock. Which by the way instead of taking the entire wire off I only popped off the lod lock , flipped it over and removed the smallest backing piece and pushed plugged off of the board and then slid the plug on to the replacement lid lock unit and re installed. Took less than ten minutes and I by passed alot of work.

I just purchased this piece of junk! My first wash and it filled up, then drained out without washing the clothes. Second try, it filled up, washed the clothes then drained out and never rinsed the clothes. I hate it, looks like I will need to buy another washer. I just want simple, a washer that washes and rinses the clothes!!!! Should I recalibrate it already????

This was the most helpful video ever. I hate modern technology because when it goes wrong it’s nearly impossible to repair yourself. Thank you!!!!!

One question though at the end of the reset when you do everything you have to do how long should I be waiting for the blinking to stop? You said it took about 4 minutes for you but it’s taking longer then 4 minutes for me.

I had to put a new splutch on one of these machines and it was not mine it was somebody else's and they told me that they know on they turn it on they do what they think that they're supposed to do and it made a zap sound and then there was no light whatsoever on the machine what happened to it the main board

thanks for this video, unfortunately it didn't work for me. did 16 loads in my Whirlpool and it die. after waiting two and a half weeks the service company came out, and when I went to do laundry a few days later it's still wasn't working. My last washer lasted almost 20 years. this one didn't even last 20 weeks

Hello. I have Maytag 4.8 cf top load with deep fill. All light turn on with sense blink. It can not even shut off when I try shut down. When I hold start all the light turn on from left to right then begin like the first I mentioned. What should I do now and what do you think?

What if the washer has clothes and water inside? Our washing machine automatically locked but the light of the lid is not there. It won't go to the soak, wash and done. It just stays in Sense mode. 😢

Ben, my issue I cannot empty the water in the unity prior going thru the reset process. Any suggestions??? I did run thru the process with water in the unit and it did not resolve the issue. Thanks for your support!

I replaced my locking mechanism. (It broke while it was locked my wife forced it opened and broke it. I’ve replaced it tried to rest the washer but it won’t lock. It’s giving me a error code F5E3. Any help?

W’pool r the WORST. THEY TIE CLOTHES INTO KNOT! AND they travel!!! This is not new for W’pool. Had Same prob in the ‘60s, AUGH, diapers tied in knots. After a fire in 2018 I replaced my old Maytag w/a W’pool. They evidently bought out Maytag. AUGH !! They still tie knot & travel across the room😡 I bot a GE SIDE LOADER & told the guys to just get that piece of trash out of my house. How can a business stay in business when they make such bad products⁉️

My washer model MVWB765FW3 won't put water in the tub (hot or cold) we have cold and hot water in the lines.

Will these instructions work for a Maytag 2000 Series washer? Model MHWE251YG00 Front Load 3.5 cu.ft. 27" stackable washing machine?

Thank you so much for this video! Bought my washer in April, it died in June. Repaired 4 days go and I got to do 5 loads before the lid stopped locking! I was so excited that my washer did exactly what your video shows for the reset, locking and unlocking as you outlined. However, when I went to try a load, the lid would not lock. Oh well, back to the Whirlpool warranty repair part 2.

After all that my washer keeps flashing sense, Done, lid locked. Should I try again?

I have a different model with 5 keys instead starting from left: Temp- Options- Deep Fill- start/pause- Power.
So I do not have 6 keys.

So, I followed your directions to the washer and was able to figure out that my sensory board was loose. I was able to fix it in 10 mins! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you! This really helped. Ours died after a power surge from power restoration after a storm. My daughter was washing during the storm and it wouldn't work after the power came back on. All the top lights were on and I couldn't get your reset method to work, so we decided to unload the clothes so I could drain it like you said. As soon as we unloaded, it started draining on its own! Crazy. I was able to to run your reset sequence afterwards (to be safe) and it's back to functioning as it should! Thank you again for the help! 👍 I was afraid our two year old machine was going to be expensive to fix. 😮

I bought this exact machine earlier this month on the 8th. I used it approximately 5 times and then it stopped working. It flashes Sense, Done, Lid. I am getting the run around from the big box store where I bought it and the manufacturer (Whirlpool). This machine cost about $750.00 and it does not work nor will Whirlpool return my messages and won't issue an RA number so I can return it to the big box store where I bought it. Any idea's. I will try this reset tomorrow. I could use some help if you know what that code means.

Mine does have the green light but it won’t spin after the recalibration it will do the rinse but then not spin any idea what it could be?

What would you do if during the calibration the drum never spinned?

Ok Ben, got one for you. Why would a Maytag front load give an f05 error, even after replacing the components, heating element, heat sensor and ccu?

I got a question for the professionals ! I have several washers that once you hit the “start” button , it waits about 5 minutes then it will start filling with water . Can someone help point me in the right direction because we have others just like it and the water fills as soon as you press start. It’s a whirlpool with the 6 led lights

Wish they made washers like they use to. New Maytag washer didn’t even make it pass its first wash. GE washer needs transmission and bearings replaced after only 5 months. Front loaders don’t use enough water to actually clean clothes. Have to hack/modify a screw on water level sensor unit to fill with more water. All junk.

Unrelated to this video, but I have noticed that dehumidifiers don't seem to last more than 4 or 5 years. $250 and up and they are junk. Does anyone make one that will last maybe 10 years?
