Do you know if the power supply for the LED strip can be connected to a light bulb switch instead of a power socket?
ОтветитьI see you are using the smd connectors. The manufacturer says specifically not to use them and to solder only. Couldn't understand why they would tell you not to use smd connectors?
ОтветитьThanks for the video! Very helpful for me as I’m about to install LED in some built-ins. Well done!
ОтветитьThe final product looks like crap. The need to paint the covers, and the way they still shows looks terrible. And the big box that you need a chair to hide shows this project to be a waste of time and money. Everything should be well hidden as if you didn't install them at all.
ОтветитьNice video. Any recommendations on a wifi controller? Trying to avoid buying YAG
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you!
ОтветитьStill looks shit
ОтветитьThanks for this man, this was really helpful. Plus all of the links made this fool proof.
ОтветитьPlease post the motion sensor info.
ОтветитьHelp me figure it out please, I received 3 packs of Govee LED Strip Light M1. Each tape is 16.4 feet, you can include only two and then the total length can reach 32.8 feet. But I have a 41 foot room and would like a consistent effect, no chunks.
How to connect an additional piece of tape so that it would be part of the main flight, so that the effect could be as one.
Thank you in advance.
The "warm" and "cool" settings are nice, but I feel like they may be unnecessary. I had a set of mid grade 12v RGB lights in the past and when I wanted "cool" I put them on any brightness in the middle white portion of the color wheel and when I wanted "warm" I'd put them closer to an orange/yellow hue at about a maximum 80% brightness.
ОтветитьJust seeing this a year later. Trying to find similar options that don't require a bridge or a hub for the controller. I LOVE Kasa lights so I'm wondering If I would be able to use some type of similiar connectors on Kasa Strips.
ОтветитьHe plugged it in to an outlet 😂😂😂😂 A whole LED lighting video and it's just plugging in an LED strip.... I'm dead. No wonder the dislikes are so high.
ОтветитьHe got the yellow going in the white ?
ОтветитьCan this be connected to just a on of switch without the controller
ОтветитьDefinition of easy is beyond broken
ОтветитьHow is it holding so far? Looking at the power supply that you used, it shouldn’t be enough to power the strip light properly based on the manufacturer’s recommended amp. Is it okay though?
ОтветитьCan you tell me What kind of effects do you get with that controller
ОтветитьAlternative to the floor box: Get a underdesk cable tray and mount it to the wall just below the shelf above and just store everything in there.
ОтветитьWhere did you find that 6 pin splitter? Awesome vid btw!
ОтветитьWhat motion sensor did you use?
ОтветитьNext time you need to screw in something in a tight space like under the cabinets, use a right angle drill adapter. Milwaukee and Dewalt make them, among others, I have both and use each for different types of spaces.
ОтветитьToo much talking .
ОтветитьWhy not run wires under the cabinets?
ОтветитьWill the controller work with Google Home or Smart things?
ОтветитьUsing that controller could I fit 6 different set of wire for 6 different led strips into the comptroller?
ОтветитьI am looking for a way to install the LED wire directly to the existing light switch so when i turn on the main light, the LED comes on as well...how do I do that?
ОтветитьGreat video. What is the sensor you used to turn them on automatically? Could not find info about that in links or comments
ОтветитьInstead of the zigbee controler, you can use a very cheap but very good ESP32 controler with WLED.
BTW I like when you wife does a little camoe in your videos!
Thanks for all the vidoes you post, I waatch a lot of them
THIS is finally the video I needed. I want to be able to do many custom lengths and blackout areas, and your video nails it. BTW, your family is awesome, and the Aero Force One T-shirt also earns big bonus points. Thanks!!!!
ОтветитьNice video. Love the need for overlord approval :). Thanks for the chuckle. I'm just starting down this path. I'm looking for an affordable light source under my ~ 5-6' desk so I can see the buttons on some machines under there. I don't need voice activation and as a first pass, I'd probably settle for a human switched with tone options (warm/cool etc). Got any videos showing that kind of desk setup? The "good" ones in your video were outside of budget for me.
ОтветитьAre there extensions for the 4-prong power adaptor? I would like to run the line outside my display case without the need to have the strip light outside the display case. Thanks!
ОтветитьOn the Controller, it says the lights can be controlled via Voice? Is that Alexa compatible? Else how by voice?
ОтветитьThose connectors are garbage there are much better versions out there
Ответить2 suggestions, we can use a esp8266 as controller it will be much much cheaper in terms of cost and 2nd, instead of putting the wires outside, you can station them inside, by placing a small hall on the bottom of gate, the wires wont be visible this way and there will be no problem of hygiene.
ОтветитьHow much did it all cost though?
Ответитьremember there's a neat free empty space under the cupboards you can run cable through, and put the contents of the bulky box inside. You cud even run an ext cord through there. Just pull out a drawer and cut a hole in the floor of the cabinet. Some cabinets don't even have a raised floor you have to cut; they're already wide open under the drawer. You can also hide gold bullion there.
Ответитьif I want to use more than 1 strip, do I need a power source and controller for each or is there a way to use 1 for all the strips?
Ответитьratchet screq driver i found on temu allows for right angles
ОтветитьExcellent video, great ideas, especially on hiding the wiring. If you stay married very long you will often say things like You were right dear, Or yes dear! lol Happy Wife Happy life.
ОтветитьHi what is the motion sensor that you used?
ОтветитьThanks you so much for sharing. Can I actually connect the led strip to a battery box ? I’m gonna teach kids how to DIY a dollhouse . What’s the easiest way to connect the Led light 💡 and hide it underneath ? Thanks you in advance 😊
ОтветитьIS it wrong that I'm more impressed that your floors are so clean?
ОтветитьWhat motion sensor did you use and how did you link to the strips?
Ответитьyou could of ran the wiring inside the cabinet
ОтветитьYour bathroom seems huge and I swore I was looking at your kitchen 😂
Ответить@smarthomesolver what do I need to get to connect ZigBee controller to my Google home so I can control??
Ответить
