Learning stone walling is another way to preserve Irish Heritage. I once went to Mulranny for their Dry Stone Festival (held every May). We repaired an 800+yr old wall that had fallen down, and our repair should last for at least another 700+ years or so. Definitely making a mark on Ireland - connecting the past and the future.
ОтветитьI believe wholly that the difference between hurling and other sports is that you are born with the skill of it coursing through your veins. If you don’t have a history of hurling in your family it is hard to muster the passion, pride and commitment to be really good. My own family is in its 5th generation of hurlers. Family, Parish and County fall in that order like the Celtic warriors of old. Playing a game that encompasses 3000 years of sporting heritage is a high that you wont get from any drug. When the rush of adrenaline hits you when you have just scored that impossible score its addictive.

ОтветитьWell said my man❤
ОтветитьYou seen LaCrosse?
ОтветитьJust played a game against setanta and won
Ответитьit’s like lacrosse if the irish just made it their own
Ответитьhere from watching bob’s burgers 😂
ОтветитьI feel so grateful that I was brought up around hurling and gaelic football despite living in Boston. My mom played on a football team out in Boston while I was still growing up which lead to me playing both sports up until my later teenage years. And always going to the pub with my dad to watch the All Ireland. It also helped having my mom be from Kerry (best gealic football county) and my dad from Galway (best hurling county)
ОтветитьI grew up in Canada playing Lacrosse and Hockey. I had a pretty small frame so got tossed around quite a bit but loved it when I was not in pain. ....the older I got the bigger my teammates got ( and my adversaries ) and so I with regret was taken out of Lacrosse and I started boxing. I thought because I played hockey and such that I was in good shape. Nope. I got beat up for ten years but I loved it. Every one around you is getting beat up as well and you're finding a way to push through. That's how I relate to sports like hurling and really enjoy and respect it.
Ответитьchinese hurling will be players holding ping pong racket on the pitch with two goals on each side
ОтветитьI have to watch this in englisch class
ОтветитьWho else is here because they wanted to see how Chris could have smashed his thumb?
ОтветитьI thought hurling was what Irishmen did into the gutter after a hard night of pub crawling.
ОтветитьDoes it count if I hurled 8 pints of Guinness last weekend?
ОтветитьHow cool is it that his team is named "Setanta?" Hurling is maybe the best sport in the world. It and seepak takraw.
ОтветитьShoulda gone down to Kilkenny for this piece. Everyone knows that's where the beating heart of the sport is. Granted, we haven't won in a while, but ask anybody around Ireland to name a county synonymous with hurling, they're going to say Kilkenny and that's a fact.
ОтветитьEvery Comment I read it sounds like I am a Irish man in my head 🙂😉😊😇
"Captain the dilitium crystals are breaking up I do not think she can take it anymore"
I only know about this cuz my co worker we would be doing work and another guy would tell us you know you should be doing it like this and he would always say to me look at that hurler on the ditch lol im sure people from Ireland would get that
ОтветитьI love hurling
ОтветитьI am getting too old to ever even try hurling but the game and especially the stick intrigues me as a walking stick maker. I have a beautiful piece of Ash cut into the rough shape of the stick but fear the "blade" isn't wide enough. It would be great to know the measurements of a hurling stick.
ОтветитьI've yet to visit Ireland but somehow I already miss it.
ОтветитьFastest game on grass ?? You have never watched Australian Rules Football obviously.
ОтветитьIt might be the fastest game on grass but it sure as eggs isn't the best
ОтветитьI was lucky enough to be staying at a friends in 2019 and we went to the Tipperary county final, I'd watched a few games at some clubs in England and on TV when sky showed it, but the pace was just so much faster, I wouldn't say it was the best game, but you can't appreciate the pace of the game until you watch a high level match, good or bad your neck will ache by the end of the game. Still think it's criminal GAA athletes aren't "professionals"
ОтветитьI’m from the north of Ireland and it is true I play hurling
ОтветитьIf you guys actually needed the subs to understand what the man was saying that is fucking beyond sad.
ОтветитьWe call this HOCKEY, thanks for copying this too.... Irish folks!!!!! Theres kabaddi n Yoga left...... Copy that too
Ответить🍀.........
ОтветитьIn case you ever wondered what a child between field hockey and lacrosse would look like.
Is he saying county or cunty?
Ever watched it, it's frantic, frenetic, and skilful. All these maniacs running about with a big wooden sticks, chasing a small ball and when they get it, it gets hit harder than a golf ball....... if the ball hits you - you won't know anything about it, it'll knock you out, cold, for a loooooong time
Think of it as ice hockey on grass, only it's not played by pussies wearing pads and you get close to what it's like.
If you haven't been to Ireland you may not be aware of just how huge hurling is here between communities its basically like a religion and it's a super fast game and relentless throughout.
ОтветитьGreat until he called a hurl/hurley a stick
ОтветитьSo what is the game about? Any ruels? how to score? when dose the game end? And how fast is the ball? Worst "Why" video ever!
ОтветитьLove how he's speaking English, but they need English subtitles 💀
Ответитьit would suck to have to go to a hurling summer camp when you are 16 and named Chris
Ответитьirish hurling is not the fastest sport on grass it is polo
ОтветитьAround the 1 min mark the caption writer seems to miss what the speaker is saying and attempts to, incorrectly, fill in the gaps/ "correct" the english spoken
What is said is "Donegal would be a very rural area, It probably wouldn't be a popular here as it would be down south..."
The speaker is speaking perfect english.
Source, am Irish and I can understand him
My boy is based
ОтветитьI’m Irish and find it funny that there is subtitles! Lads it’s a bit of crack playing hurling ya won’t be disappointed!
Ответитьone could say Gaelic Football is the national sport of Ireland, but I do agree that Hurling is
ОтветитьBest sport in the industrie
ОтветитьNever heard of Irish hurling
ОтветитьIt's like the world's most dangerous egg and spoon race.
ОтветитьYup
ОтветитьCrossmaglen pitch looking well😂
ОтветитьIrish 🍺🍻🙊 hurling.
ОтветитьAwwww! Setanta <3 I'm a basque lad and I've had the honour to have learnt about this game in that exact pitch. I would love this sport to be more famous!
