Not yelling and screaming like a mad man to get ratings. Sadly the Kitchen Nightmare shows went down hill when it hit the US market.

Just bullies yelling and screaming at people creating drama.

Zero respect for the people, just drama...

With the chef that was making the hushpuppies and fish with the same batter, in the same fryer is concerning for me because I have a fish allergy and it's severely cross contaminated. And if they don't watch, they could/could've put a lot of people in the hospital.

The reason people like Ivan get that way is because they get so stressed out, it gets to them. Ivan isn’t a bad person, he was just in a bad situation, but thanks to Jon, maybe he’s doing better now. People saying his attitude won’t change overnight, let me explain something: With the right tools, the right people, and the right motivation, anyone can change and do a complete 180, sometimes quickly sometimes it takes years. Ivan is one of the ones that only took a short amount of time.

This reminds me, when I worked in a college dining hall one of my jobs was to take temps of buffet items. I would be honest on the form and they were generally around 43, 47, etc. I got called into my manager's office and told "I think it's great that your honest, but it's less trouble for everyone if you just say 40."

Over all I like the show even when most of it is obviously staged with some bad actors but the continous flooding of the bar with too much ppl at the same time is just bullshit and unrealistic, sure they want to bring staff and owner to limits, but thats just asshole beaviour.

Definitely need more of these 'most improved' compilations and the like. Need some positivity mixed in to help lift the mood. Diana was awesome in how she turned around and absolutely killed it after the other lady was so smug talking about how she'd self sabotage.

A lot of people are motivated and willing, but lack the training or basics.

Once showed how to do it, if they are serious about it, they will pick it up, some people are naturals and picks thing quick, and some people you can show them and explain to them for a 100 years and it still would not be done well.

AS someone who works in Food and public service, i've seen my fair share of competent and incompetents people

This is a joke. Chef's don't work in bars, cooks do. There's a big difference. Just because this putz calls em that doesn't make it so. I know I cooked in a bar/restaurant for 12 years, knew several other cooks and a couple Chef's. There's a big difference in training and capabilities.

I’m always struck by the thin back of house staff. Most of these places should have at least one more person on for the rush. Usually a scheduling problem. Good restaurants have a morning, mid-day and evening shift schedule to ensure there always enough cooks at rush periods and so that prep gets done/food is rotating properly.
