(Paraphrased from reports in Kitāb al-Maṣāḥif).
In Sunan Ibn Majah and other hadiths, Aisha is reported to have said that:
“The verse of stoning and of breastfeeding an adult ten times was revealed, and it was in the paper under my pillow. When the Prophet died, and we were preoccupied with his death, a tame animal entered and ate the paper.”
Sahi al bukari: There were so many differences in the way people were reciting the quran that Uthman orders the muslim community to send in all versions of the written koran and burns them
