Was my first SLR too. I spent a whole year (1980), saving £2 per week to buy one+manual adapter. I was trembling with excitement when it was handed over to me. Never had the same buying experience ever. But wow.. I wish I'd kept it, just to look at and occasionally take some shots with. 😁❤️

would you rather use a pentax t2 or a OM10?

My parents bought me my OM-10 for my 19th birthday when I was in college, as I needed one for my course. I learned so much with it, and still have it 27 years later. I just learned about the Winder add on, do you know about it?

Nice video! It's good to see a young photographer having an emotional connection with a vintage film camera. Many years ago I used OM-1 and OM-2 cameras, both of which I also had a connection with. I avoided the OM-10 because, at the time, fellow photographers were saying that it was a 'toy' for the uninitiated. HOW WRONG WAS I? I have just bought an Olympus OM-10 on ebay, it needed cleaning and new light seals, but what a beautiful piece of engineering. It cleaned up well and with new batteries everything seems to be working exactly as it should. I have loaded it with Ilford FP4+ and I'm ready to go back to my early days of photography where you did your creative work in camera, not on a computer. I am so excited about this OM-10 that I have just bought another OM-10 body and a manual adapter to repair and load with colour film (although I am mainly a B&W enthusiast). Like I said, nice video full of emotion.

Ok question how you develop the film and get it as a digital photo?😅

Ok this is a really neat video. My dad bought me one of these, a miranda and a Canon AE-1 which works but needs a new lense.

I only have a bit of a hardware issue with the on/off switch because it's loose and the lense or something is yellowish and just a tad bit dirty but not so much it's unusable.

I just need to learn how to pick a proper aperture when taking videos and find a proper flash and a good film to shoot on :D

Yo!! I know this video's a couple years old, but I just got an Olympus OM-10 and am dealing with a lot of vingetting on my photos. I'm also a brand new film photographer so I'm sure I could be doing something wrong, but I was wondering if you had any advice on this with the OM-10 specifically? Is it a lens issue, or a camera issue? Love your videos!!

Nice review. Do you think you'll ever sell it on? I have a Nikon FE, first camera that kicked it all off for me and film - however I don't use it much now, and am like... keep for nostalgia and sentiment or pass along to be used by another!
Curious on your take!

My OM10 also turns the meter off if you don't use it for a while - I believe it's a feature (not a bug) that was included to save battery life, although the meter is still operating when the light is off so I can't think it makes much of a difference. However, that thing you thought was a shutter lock is actually the key to switching it back on again! It's electrostatic so a touch from your finger will reactivate the meter light. On a lot of models this feature breaks quite fast, unfortunately, so yours may not work. Lovely camera though, the Zuiko lenses are amazing!

I bought the OMG Yes OMG :) for $20 at yard sale. It has the 50mm1.8 and what a sweet little camera plus lens combination. Small and light weight but with a large bright viewfinder. It is very similar to the OM 10 except with manual exposure added. I was told it was another name for the OM20 depending which market it was sold in.

I got one laying around, my wife's dads old one! However advance leaver got stuck. Haven't looked into it properly tho, but would like to get it fixed and pick up a 50mm for it and shoot some eventually!

I only started photography in the last couple of years and shoot Canon 5D IV. Ive just bought 2 OM10's one with the manual adapter & Ive also bought an OM30 and a 1978 Olympus trip. I intend to shoot landscape and cityscape photography including night and long exposure images in black and white only. I love the image quality and the look of prints from this era. I guess it can be replicated with a modern DSLR in post processing but that feels like I'm cheating myself. I've only just started my adventure with film photography but for me going backwards in time seems like the way to move forward.

My first 'real' camera was a used OM10 back in the 1970s. I'm on a nostalgia trip, so I decided to find out what a young whippersnapper thinks of this camera! I'm so glad you also like it. I absolutely loved it, and it took great pictures. The meter and focusing was always bang on, and it just feels good in the hand – really, one of those iconic, perfect devices. And with that 'standard' lens it captured the world as your own eye saw it. I had other fancy lenses, but I lost interest in them as I found I just wanted to grab what I could see, which is what this camera excels at. Now I only shoot digital, but I have to say, there is a quality to film that is so much more... searching for the right word... perhaps it's, 'tender'.

It seems like your sharpness of the pictures isn’t that high, or is that just the level of quality from scanning the negatives?

I got my OM10 almost a year ago and I've been shooting on it ever since, I absolutely love how easy it is to shoot with because in the moment I can focus on composition or catching things that I might not be able to. I do have 3 other film cameras which I'm yet to shoot with (I got them for lenses and because they were all super cheap) but I do want to try messing with them, I'm just almost kinda scared because I don't know how to meter or choose the right shutter haha

I started with an OM-30 I picked up at the end of 2018! Great first 35mm SLR for sure, and now I’ve passed onto my wife who has got to grips with it without on prior photography skills or knowledge, and she’s getting on great with it too. Highly recommend the OM-xx line of cameras!

I have the OM-1, in fact the 435th ever built and its still straight up in pristine condition. My favorite thing about it is the super small form factor, I can keep it in my jacket pocket while climbing onto roofs or over fences (I love shooting in places I'm not supposed to be) For more high quality portraits Im looking to get a Mamyia 645 or anything medium format, still unsure.
