Recalls are on mercedes, Hondas and also Toyota as well. Hyundai have been wonderful cars for me. And how can you compare to pony from 80's. Who does that.

Most recalled car in the US, Tesla, not Hyundai. I've owned a Hyundai Santa Fe without 1 issue. I owned a Kia Sorento for 10 years, what did I have to take it in for, the backup camera. Why did I sell my Sorento, bought a new Santa Fe.

When you intensively drive a 2017 Hyundai Tucson SE things go wrong. I had to replace a Dual Clutch Transmission at 96,000 kilometers and almost again after 160,000 kilometers but i sold it before it took place. (Toyota E-CVT Hybrids Rule!) Turbo package had gone at 120,000 km, when they replaced it a bolt went sideways, they machined the heads then it was burning 🔥 a bottle and a half of synthetic oil a week. After engine oil reads the dealership would of had to pull the engine over 1 or 2 months. No rental cars allowed for Uber Driving in Alberta. I'm out!

I had a 2018 Kia Optima and it was one of the best vehicle I've owned. Put 60k on it in 18 months and not one issue. Traded it in on a 2019 Ram Classic. I'd take the Kia any day although I had zero issues with the Ram I drove for 3 years.

Gross over-simplification. My son has a 2016 Veloster turbo with 75000 and no problems other than a clutch. My daughter has a 2019 Kia Soul Plus with a normal automatic transmission with 75000 miles and only problem was replacing the rear hubs (a bit over a hundred bucks and a couple hours). His data about recalls was incorrect. Highest number of recalls in 2022 was Ford by a big margin Kia and Hyundai were 6th and 7th. Mercedes was 4th. This is hyperbolic opinion only.

I bought a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. So far, I really like it. I'm with you about the engine failures they had in the past few years. I hope they're past those manufacturing problems now. One related topic I think you shouldn't skip is the 5/10 year Hyundai warranty. If my motor blows up in the next four and a half years, at least Hyundai is going to replace it. That's more than you can say about most other manufacturer's warranties which are only three years.

Driving a 2018 Santa Fe with 80k. No issues at all. Had a 2017 before that and had 50k before having to get trade in the lease. Also no issues at all. I had a Mercedes M class before that and I love my Hyundais way more. Looking at the Genesis next.

I was a tech for 22 years and I agree ,but I would also add Mitsubishi. Though less expensive to fix ,they do not work well when they work.
Of course Hyundai and KIA are the same.
Subaru are an honorable mention.
Mercedes has good coach work but their electronics seem to have engineered issues. Like wise BMW.

Of all the cars I see sitting on the side of the road waiting for tow trucks I don't think even one has been a Hyundai. My wife bought a new Elantra GL in 2014 and my stepson a new Elantra GT the same year, and before the year was up I bought a new Elantra GLS (2015 model) which were all excellent cars for what we paid for them. I dealt up to a new Tucson in 2017 and drove across Canada in 2020 to move to Vancouver where I sold that vehicle in 2021. My stepson is still using his 2014 Elantra which a dealership near Vancouver put a new engine in about a year and a half ago because of some sort of recall, even though the old one was still running perfectly.
Hyundai today is a far better vehicle and company than they were even 15 years ago.

As much as this guy and the people who paid him to make this recording want you to believe it's true you better not believe a word of it. WE drive a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and it's a great little car and my friend has a Jeep with over 250,000 miles and it runs perfect. People can be paid to say anything. The secret is: You have to do regular maintenance on car and trucks and they will serve you well.

I am on my third Hyundai Accent, Santa Fe, and Elantra. All have been good cars. My newest is a 2019 Elantra gets an average of 37 miles to the gallon. It has been no problems and now has over 100k. If you get it serviced when it is suppose to be serviced and don't drive it like a maniac it will last. My 2009 accent went over 200k before a gravel truck totalled it. I still drive the 2005 Santa Fe, great in the snow. It is comfortable and a solid car.
