FIRNS: Introduction to Investment Readiness

On the 21st of March at 12pm, the Green Finance Institute hosted the first in a series of webinars in support of the Facility for Investment Ready Nature in Scotland (FIRNS). This webinar focuses on Investment Readiness, including:

- Investment Readiness as a concept, including how the use of private finance can help ambitions for nature recovery.
- The importance of creating robust and reliable revenue streams, along with the popular business models that support these.
- The journey to Investment Readiness (as guided by the GFI’s Investment Readiness Toolkit), and how this is reflected in the FIRNS design and delivery.
- Milestone 1 (Initial Project Scoping) of the Toolkit, and the range of activities it contains – including scoping financial feasibility.
- Experiences from project developers on the overall journey to Investment Readiness and starting projects.

The webinar also hosted a two expert project developers, Alicia Gibson of Finance Earth and Tom Gegg of Palladium, who shared their advice on how to approach initial project scoping.
