Is this safe for the eye? Would the aqueous humor pour out onto the outside of the eye?? Are you prone to more eye infections? Will the opening try to heal over? How long does the opening last? Can narrow angle be caused by something else other than genetics such as inflammation from autoimmune disease? What are alternatives to this procedure? Thanks. UPDATE: Glaucoma specialist doctor said the laser doesn't cut a hole in the outer layer just the inner layer due to the wavelength of the light, therefore there's no liquid that can escape nor is the eye exposed. Sounds safer than I thought though I'd like to ask for a second opinion just in case. It's still a procedure that changes your anatomy a bit and that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Ответитьhad one yesterday. and your 13 year old video helped me understand.. :0)
ОтветитьI had this done in 2015. I now cannot drive at night. The openings were done at 10 and 2 and way too large according to my current doc. It took a while for the full effect on my vision. Ask questions and choose your doctor carefullly
ОтветитьIncredible visualization! Also you made it look like a video game. pew pew!
ОтветитьI had to have this done. Felt like an electrical shock when they fired the laser…but man…this really helped with the pressure and additional vision loss. A lot of people ask me a lot of questions about my condition and what it all means. I try to explain it the best I can and then tell them about having this procedure. It’s this video that I show them because it is such an amazing and informative example. Thank you for uploading this…. It really educates people. Please post more on this subject if you can.
ОтветитьDoes this cause discoloration to the eye? And what effect does this have regarding the retinal ganglion cells and trabecular meshwork? Also, does this hole try to mend itself and close back up? And Is that desirable in the event that Stem cell therapies become a viable and applicable treatment for glaucoma?
ОтветитьAC-130 Up Above!
ОтветитьTo the author, I have a floater after a sub acute event, and am due to have the laser treatment in a few weeks, will the floater disappear?
ОтветитьThis looks too scary, specially that first shot 😱 I shouldn’t have watched this, I’m getting this treatment tomorrow and now I’m scared 😨
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this! Ps: it looks so exciting. Almost like a video game! 😅
ОтветитьI am having this laser procedure not because of glaucoma but because of an ICL surgery to correct my -7.50 high myopia and astigmatism that will occur after this Iridotomy - I am nervous about this procedure, if something goes wrong I will not have the ICL and it would have been for nothing and my vision can even get worst that it is.
Ответитьcurious what power setting? 2,3,4,5 mj?
ОтветитьCan i know indication of pi and can we use it as prophylactic?
Ответитьcould we use a goldmann +78 three mirrors lens for such intervention
ОтветитьJust had this done in both eyes after having an acute angle closure glaucoma attack. The pressure in both eyes went back to normal and my vision is sharper than it's been in a long time. No pain during the procedure, just a little twinge a few times. It was done two hours ago and I feel great. My vision has not been this good in over a year!
ОтветитьNow that is cool.
ОтветитьThank you assertyourself I am concerned because I am legally blind in my left eye and will have to have it done on both. Your reply eased my worries a bit.
ОтветитьI just had this procedure done a few hours ago on my right eye, I feel is though there is something in my eye right now like a piece of sand, is that normal?
Ответитьgreat dear Dr.root.
ОтветитьJust had this done- thanks Dr Behn (Victoria BC) ! Very comfortable with the procedure and thankful we have the Drs and technology to perform these possibly sight saving procedures.
