Best of Medik8!

The Medik8 Crystal Retinal 10 is recommended by a dermatologist I trust on skincare products, Dr Sam Ellis, but I will not pay over $100 for it. The Avene Retrinal is cheaper but now Naturium has the same strength as these 2 and it’s only $34 for 1.7 ounces so the Naturium is my new retinaldehyde for use on my neck where I can’t tolerate my prescription retinol, tretinoin 0.5%.

When you look at other Retinol skincare brands, say The Ordinary, you'll notice that no matter the strength, you're paying the same amount for the same product. Recently I've discovered that Medik8 charges more for the power for the same amount of only 30ml. Crystal Retinal 3 30ml £49. Crystal Retinal 6 30ml £66. Crystal Retinal 10 30ml £89. Crystal Retinal 20 30ml £99. I'm happy to pay good money for a good product, not just for a brand, and I enjoy using many of Medik8's skin care products, but this is just downright unethical and lacking in the integrity of any company if you're charging an incrementally higher price based on strength for the same amount of product.

So happy to hear that I’m doing something right with my skincare journey - save for the bakuchiol peptides, these are all in my routine and I love them. Only one I’m unsure of is the clarity peptides - it’s my latest incorporation and I think it might be irritating my skin (particularly getting some redness on my cheeks) - is this possible?

Can you use an oil after the retinol? Or is it moisturizing enough to use on its own? I have normal to dry skin.

Tried the Retinal thanks to you and I am having amazing results on my acne with the strength 3 :) I usually try to have a relatively affordable routine through Korean skincare, but I make an exception for this product because it's so good :)

Definitely just put the cristal retinol on my wishlist! I have one retinol product I need to get through but after this is done I’ll stick to retinal!

Over last 12 months I have already used 5 bottles of the clarity peptides as it is the only product which saved me from maskne. I combined it with Paula choice azelaic acid and any good moisurizer in order to achieve great result.

I had a question actually, I have been thinking about it for a while, maybe you can help me with it. So, as everyone says, it's good to apply skincare 2x a day, am and pm. However, with working from home kind of situation, even 3-4 times is totally possible. So, that got me wondering that there are a lot of ingredients that are not compatible together, but how long does it actually take to absorb/convert? Let's say after applying something acidic, how many hours should pass before application of something with neutral pH, without compromised efficacy?

I just bought the Crystal Retinal 3 and 6 just the other day cuz of your previous posts talking about it. So looking forward to trying out this brand! Would love it if you could do a video on niacinamide and irritation. I was able to use it for years and this past year reacted really poorly to it. Renee, you introduced me to Medik8 years ago and I loooove the brand!! Currently using their advanced night cream under my tretinoin and using the c-tetra under sunscreen, but now you've convinced me to try your 5 favs too (especially the peptides product)! Thank you for another wonderful video!!!

How would you compare the Medik8 eyelift to the advanced night eye?

so you prefer retinaldehyde over adapalene? i haven't tried the Medik8 one, but i find retinaldehyde to not be effective enough for my needs.
