How come there are no video of people teaching english brand names to french people on correct pronounciation
ОтветитьThe pronounciation of most names is still not perfect. Also the name Moët is from french origin. The founder Claude Moët was indeed dutch but his name is french and originates from the 14th century. You still pronounce the T though.
L'Occitane was very wrong.
If you pronounce some of them correctly, most people won't understand you
Ответитьje suis allé en champagne not a champagne, because it is a ' region", je suis allé en touraine, dans le perche :)
ОтветитьAs a French person you did pronounce most of the brands correctly.
Just one word regarding the brand L'Occitane en Provence. The "cc" is most of the time pronounced as "ks" when preceded with a vowel, such as in "accélérer" (to speed up) or "Occident".
I said "most of the time", because there are exceptions, such as "ecchymose" (a bruise) which is pronounced "ay-key-moez".
What about Herve léger
ОтветитьTurns out I'm pronouncing all of them correctly but the East European shopkeepers think I'm having a stroke
ОтветитьIn English it's "pronunciation" not pronounce-ciation.
ОтветитьLove it! Was definitely getting L'Occitane wrong! Btw, the word is not proNOUNciation though, it's proNUNciation. So there's a new English one for you!
ОтветитьGot most correct! 2 years high school French and of course grandpere was Canadian and we spoke French often in home. First year French teacher thought my accent was "crude" 🤣 However time has left me with horrible French!
ОтветитьGet on with it.... Hasta
ОтветитьI've decided that it's not the actual pronunciation of most French words (as I can grasp that), but it's where they annunciate! When reading words, I want to annunciate the exact opposite way that lessons show
ОтветитьI never made it past your interminably long commercial.
How about this. The French can’t speak English properly and neither can us Americans. How about we just leave it at that? 😊
You pronounce “pronunciation” without an “o.”
ОтветитьI don't think we pronounce most of those names wrong because we see the adverts it's just that we say them with more of an English manner, no self respecting french person would refuse to sell to you because you didn't pronounce in the correct french sound.
ОтветитьI tried some new eyeglasses and said what I thought was Long Champ lol he said it’s actually longchomp ( sound like that) lol
ОтветитьToo much background! Please shorten the videos
ОтветитьYeahh Clickbaity looking title that wasnt click baity at alllll!!!
Lol Gerrlain the french way of saying it sounds so much preetier
Guy from Chicago.
People in Texas just got slaughtered by a psychopath... but saying pretentious names properly seems so much more important.
ОтветитьI learned fench! 7/10 Fine language, a bit difficult for writing.
ОтветитьClickbait
ОтветитьSponsor plug is wayyyy too long.
ОтветитьWell…that’s 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. 👎🏻
ОтветитьI can't wait to go to France so I can purposely ask for thinks and butcher their language just to so they can feel superior to me.... I especially want to embarrass the wifey!! I might wear a beret with my name embroidered..
ОтветитьI think the most mispronounced brand is Esteé Lauder but we also need to talk about Sephora, Yves Saint Laurent, Caudalíe, Boucheron, Cacharel, Clarins, Emblyolisse, Kérastase, Nuxe, and Rochas.
ОтветитьWho cares, everyone says things in their own way. French people dont say English things "correctly". So what?
ОтветитьOh my, the irony of hearing her say "pronounciation" instead of "pronunciation". Twice! Brilliant.
ОтветитьWe have a kid at my school named Cartier. Every time someone says his name I cringe. Sigh
ОтветитьWith all due respect...
I'm Japanese by descent, I was born in New York. I don't pronounce Toyota the way the Japanese do.
Perhaps if Japanese were my first language or if I were in Japan, it would be different, but it feels pretentious otherwise.
I don't expect anyone to say Japanse words or brand names the way the Japanese do.
And funny, when Americans do, I'm like, "Please don't, it's okay. You're not Japanese and we're not in Japan."
If only you could teach us without making fun of our American accent not our wrongful speech the same as your accent makes you sound different to us
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful language. Thanks for the lesson.
ОтветитьThis was great, back in French class, I love it. Maybe I'll even get a chance to use these words someday, thanks so much.
ОтветитьI really doubt seriously if the Brands care how you pronounce their items as long as the transaction goes through and they receive the funds for your purchase.😊
ОтветитьThat commercial was so long I forgot what the video was supposed to be and almost clicked out
ОтветитьI don’t see or hear any difference except a accent. What drives me nuts is a English speaking person throw a accent on any word in the middle of a sentence. It truly makes me giggle.
ОтветитьGreat job! Thank you very much!
Next time, take your hat off when you get your hair colored.
French muscles in the mouth?! Je n’avais jamais entendu une telle expression! 🤣 But good job for this video, you’ve mastered the French accent! 💪
ОтветитьI live in France and I am jealous of your skills, girl😂
ОтветитьI love the French try to speak English.
ОтветитьAs an Australian I can hear you are from New Zealand…. 😊
ОтветитьIt’s too much talking before you actually get into the pronunciation over 4 mins that’s too long.I love the explanations but maybe advertise your learning programs on another video in the future.
ОтветитьBeautiful language
ОтветитьI can’t wear Laboutin shoes ever. They are painful to wear.
ОтветитьThe problem with pronouncing brands “correctly” is it sounds like you’re switching languages midstream. Nothing wrong with adapting to whatever language you’re speaking at the moment.
ОтветитьI find it interesting how people are will jump on you if you correct someone else's English and everyone says " English isn't their first language!". French people, however, are able to demand that their language be spoken correctly or a lot won't bother talking to you in French at all. Like, how dare you defile their language by butchering it!
ОтветитьIf the advertisers mispronounce them in the advertisements, then everyone else is going to mispronounce them. Please go talk to the advertisers not the public being advertised too. I love how now everyone is blaming the consumer for the things that are the responsibility and fault of the people creating the products and advertising them.
Just like single-use plastics are the fault of the factories and companies that produce them not the consumers that don't have other options.
Stop supporting all these corrupt companies and actually start holding them accountable.
God you're such a sheep and it's so disgusting. You are vile and ignorant.
I am a person with French heritage who can't really speak French. Only studied it for a year at school but still, very conscious that I butcher it. I was glad to see that I got most of those right, though I did think it was Mo-ay
ОтветитьThe actual video starts at four minutes and 30 seconds
ОтветитьI may be low brow, but I see nothing wrong with pronouncing words with an American accent - no matter what part of the USA your accent hales
Ответить
