There's going to be a lot of sick people in the future that followed keto.

that thing about the paralysis of over anlysis is a real thing. I've gotten so informed I'm paralyzed! Not really, but this was a great wake-up call - directed to this video via your emails - thank you Dr. Becky and team. I'll start again as often as I need to - today is (once again) a new day. Starting with 3 simple goals, for 30 days I'll eat lower carb (not counting quite yet), in a 12 hour eating window, and *drink water first... How awesome to have worked on a series for high schoolers...

Thank you for your awesome videos. 11 weeks ago I had a CAC test. My score was 436. When you read that you have a 50% chance of a cardiac event in the next two years (if you do nothing) then you get motivated. Keeping things simple has always worked for me. I have lost 22 lbs in the last 11 weeks. Doing the low carb diet but not doing keto and increasing exercise has turned things around for me. I refuse to take statins so this is the way it will be for the rest of my life.

Intermittent fasting ended up being that foundational habit. It was easy and, after a few months, actually enjoyable. I had less to do and decide, not more. I felt great, which led to me wanting to stack on healthy habits, one at a time. But low carb dieting meant tracking carbs, and that was not easy or enjoyable. I just focused on adding in tons of whole foods, cutting down on added sugars, and making fast food a rarity. Got to my goal weight in a year. It was easy, enjoyable, and effective. It was not fast, but it is sustainable and no tracking required. Two meals a day, no snacks. Mostly real, whole one ingredient foods. No dieting.

That is so true. I hit a plateau and felt it was no longer "effective " .. I felt so disheartened but I didn't give up. Then my weight on the scales started to move again in the right direction. All 3 "E's " back again.

I "found" you channel 2 weeks ago and I like it! As I say in a comment to another video, I start low carb last year, and it changes everything. I do sports many years, but my stubborn fat will not go away....I change my workouts and start low carb, viola! 5 kg lost, six pack, mental strength, better skin, more power. I also supplement D 3, K2, Omega3 and a few others. You do a great work!👍

Thank you so much for your videos and the practical and science based information that you share! I am 56, menopausal,, and can relate to the struggle with weight loss that so many women of my age group share. I have been a yo yo dieter since my 30s, and have negatively impacted my metabolism in a big way. Just started the ketogenic diet a month ago and I am feeling healthier than I have in years! My joints are no longer achy, I have more energy, am sleeping better, and, as of this morning, am 17 lbs down :) I wholeheartedly agree that it takes preparation, research, and a bit of carb tweaking to find what works for my body. I'm needing to keep my daily carb intake at about 20 grams of carbs or less a day, but its really working. Consuming my carbs in the form of whole foods has been the ticket, as has intermittent fasting. I look forward to your next video!

I find your videos very informative but I don’t see how it’s enjoyable when your only eating veggies, protein and fats (avocados). I have been trying to follow this for the last 7 months and I have not had any weight loss , only my cholesterol to go up and my doctor tell me to get off of it. So I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any advice?

Dr. Becky, I would love videos on (1) what to do about increased cravings, especially for carbs, during PMS; and (2) whether there’s any validity to “body type dieting,” that categorizes people into ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph. Thanks for all your great videos!

your totally right about conflicting information ,we are confused what is really the best types of foods we should be sticking to.we have the low fat high carb vegans and the other side of the ring the low carb high fat keto lobby .both sides can produce medical evidence? to support their claims.i would have thought medical research is becoming more accurate but to me its still in its infancy.therefore i have been experimenting on myself ,eg. 6 months on 40ml of virgin olive oil ,and a vegan diet .blood tested result much higher cholesterol reading than previous now im on a complex carb, reduced refined carbs diet reduced protein and cut out veg oils soon to have blood tests see how my bio markers go..however i think your knowledge is very impessive and love your vids .im not at all fat ,quiet slim ,and iv been told look much younger than my age 64 ,my doctor said last visit your a very happy person and healthy, smilling dosnt hurt you.all the best .

I'm so thrilled to hear you say '"low carb is easier to manage" because I agree, it is. As a T2 diabetic with dodgy kidneys I can no longer eat meat, it's simply too painful. A tbs of salmon is OK as is 1 single egg, but more animal protein than this affects me badly. Doing vegan keto is difficult and not sustainable but that 1 single egg with a big salad does help me stay low carb as does IF.

I am almost 4 weeks into the AIP(Auto Immune Protocol). Eliminating sugar, nightshades, all grains, coffee, dairy, eggs, nuts and seeds was definitely not enjoyable the first 2-ish weeks! I had some unpleasant withdrawals from simple carbs, sugar and caffeine, but am now seeing and feeling improvements in my health and weight so I am highly motivated to continue. I will be able to gradually reintroduce some foods, but it is doubtful dairy or gluten will be going back into my diet. Sugar is the slippery slope. I am amazed how I am not craving it now that it is out of my system. So my plan gets 2/3-effective and easy to follow because the list is so limited that you are eating whole foods-meats, vegetables, and some fruits. It is becoming more enjoyable. Thankful for sweet potatoes, avocados, coconut and bananas. The starches and fats allowed have me not feeling hangry!

Good morning Dr. Becky! I'm so glad that my sister shared your channel with me!
I have a coffee creamer question for you ... She and I are both genetically prone to high cholesterol and are on statins to lower them... I actually have calcification as well. I have been using non-fat half and half which unfortunately has corn syrup in it .... I'm sure that must break my fast...
I am concerned about using a fat that is high in saturated fats... Which of the coffee creamers that you have tested would you recommend for me? Thanks so much! ~ Maria
