I'm just here because I had an Alienware with a 3070 and the HDD broke. For some reason they can't fix it and now they're sending me a new computer but with a 3080 Ti. I don't know why. Dell support is both terrible and amazing apparently.

With the price of 3080 ti fe let alone the 80 ti fe versions going for $1100 up to $1800, shts ridiculous. But if theres a 3080, 80 ti, and 3090 all FE’s, all brand new and they’re all in the same price range of $1100…which one would you choose?

How many people here ignore the fact that this video was made before the msrp announcement? (Which NV themselves raised right before the reveal)

The tech review business is tough and if you don't make a video on it ASAP, you will loose mindshare versus others (GN, LTT, HU have all stated the very short timespan they have to benchmark some cards before the Review NDA lifts at some times, and this likely was one of them)

Either way, now that GPUs have returned to earth in prices (aside Lovelace), the 3080Ti's value has increased massively, pretty much invalidating the 4080-12GB (3080Tis can be found for 900$ new easily ATM) unless you *really* want Frame Generation or a few % better performance in pure path tracing workloads.

Although the sort of problem here is NV sort of put their Ampere stack in a corner in the high end with the 3080-12GB (A sku that was Shadow dropped over the later parts of the scalpocaypse after the 3080Ti came out), pretty much being the 3080 Super in disguise giving you the 3080Ti's memory bandwidth and a minor uptick in core counts versus the 3080-10GB.

As a blender user, vram is very important to me. I’ll still be getting the 3090

the date right now is 8/28/2022 and ive gotten myself a rtx 3080 ti for as much as 870 dollars. I bought 3060 for 800 dollars (dont judge me i needed an upgrade) and im honestly excited to get my hands on this device. took me 1 years of patience to not spend 2 grand to scalpers but it will pay off in the long run in years for me just for me to play minecraft rtx on 4k, but seriously it will help editing and will be a breeze with fast loading screens and programs.

At below MSRP , this card is a really good choice now . Pick up one of those ASUS Tuf OC or Strix OC , both perform extremely well and matches the 3090 in almost every aspect beside vram.
If you got the good Variant it is @ 12-15% ahead of the RTX 3080 .

Have to say I'm really liking the 3080 TI that I bought in July 2022, new, well below MSRP. Yes, I waited. Don't care that there will be something new soon that will almost certainly cost more. There's always something new coming out. My 3080 TI will probably be in my system for 5 years.

I just picked up an EVGA 3080 Ti. I upgraded from a 3070 Ti and man, there is a HUGE difference between the two. I am absolutely loving this upgrade. Yea, it was pricey, but I don't care. It was worth it to me
