Wow living in a house during a snowsturm must really be hard , i have never seen anyone survive a snowfall that was this servire , as i wach this video i am awed by the woodsmans survival instinct and skills, shurely no one else has ever survived falling snow like that especially being inside a small room. I will save this survival video forever for my own family to watch long after i am gone.

my dugout has a basement where i store water and food on shelves and the ladder rungs are about 6 inches apart not 16 inches apart . i was thinking of digging deeper and making a tunnel and using cedar trees like gold mine tunnels have and a hollow tree stump like hogan's heroes had i might have to just get a regular stump and burn out the middle or get thick bark an build a faux stump

Not exactly a blizzard. But, cool,little hut. I’d suggest a screened cap on top of the stove pipe to keep critters from making nests in it.

I'm curious about what happens to dugout shelters when the snow melts? Does the melt water pool anywhere?

No ventilated cap or elbow pipe on top the ventilator pipe - to stop rain or snow from coming down the pipe and into the shelter.
