Would it be decent to book a hotel stay with something like Expedia or other well known packages? Or would I get to the hotel and it be nothing like I was shown?
ОтветитьLand of a thousand scams, err smiles
ОтветитьWow what a voice to put you to sleep, sorry😮
ОтветитьHave you heard about the fake monk give me money scam mostly out of Chiang Mai city ? Had the encounter in 2005 there. The fake monk was very pushy. Told him to get lost.
ОтветитьFake products is not a scam.., its good value👍
ОтветитьCity of smiles to city of scam!
ОтветитьI think Thailand has become a country of international scammers from locals, to Chinese from China, India , Israelis and some Europeans like Russia . So beware !
ОтветитьBart?
ОтветитьI'm never coming back. I haven't been back for 5 years and I got asked 20 times by African drug dealers down a 200 metre strip. Then there's the Indian hair scammers. Not to mention the fat Arab women carrying a baby asking for money. Also, let's not forget the taxis.
Bangkok has changed for the worst and this city sucks balls now.
Hint * wear shoes, that way you can keep up to the theives who are more then likely wearing sandals. 😂😅
ОтветитьI hired a prostitute for an hour and when we got back to the hotel room she didnt have a penis....worst scam ever!
ОтветитьThe songthaews look like our jeepneys in the Philippines. Upgraded height and sides for ventilation but that’s gonna be difficult when it rains.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this information
ОтветитьThe constant taxi scams my wife and I experienced in Bangkok when were there in February 2024 completely turned us off from going back.
ОтветитьI was in Thailand last year for about 8 months and one of my friends went to come see me and he got scammed at the airport LOL it was with the taxi overcharging him by a lot to take him to his hotel... the difference is I've watched all the videos about the scams and he did not LOL. I even had a motorbike taxi that was bookef through grab and after the motorbike taxi dropped me off he still tried to get me to pay him and I just kept pointing at the Grab app and I told him(through translation app)the app will pay you, I'm not giving you any money. They will try to sucker you out of money if you let them... not everyone will try to scam you but these were a couple of the scams I came across
ОтветитьMy son used IVisa for his entry card. They charged $69. He didn’t know it was a scam. He’s a travel novice. Is it still legitimate or should he go online and get a new one ?
ОтветитьBangkok may 19 2025. First Bangkok scam, went into it, knowing but wanted to experience a tuktuk ride. Got off the river ferry at the grand palace #9 stop. Waked in a way and had several people approach us. But then a security guard I uniform and hat came up to us to warn us about pick pockets, he then removed his hat to show his Grey hair saying that proved he was a trusted guard. 😂 he the brought up a special government licensed tuktuk to take us to the sights. Along the way he took us to two tailors, a supposed government duty free shop. When we got to the palace we stopped things early, paid him his 60 baht and called a Grab. It was exactly as you said. Every store we didn't want to go into the driver would say he wouldn't be given gas unless we at least walked into. It was annoying, but a experience I has to have 😂
ОтветитьI have been visiting Thailand very regularly since 1988. BKK, dozens of times. Even lived, for a few months at a time in Hua Hin, Phuket and Chiang Mai. Not once did I come across a scam. On the contrary. I've been invited to their homes and been entertained like a king.
Just saying. Be wary but not paranoid.
Great vid nonetheless.
Thank you for pointing out the shortcomings of Thailand. However, we still want to warmly welcome foreigners and ensure they have the best possible experience when visiting our country.
ОтветитьHair cut?
ОтветитьGood
ОтветитьI’m seeing more and more Bolt drivers arriving in a car with a different plate than advertised. Not sure if it’s a scam or not though!
ОтветитьI love Thailand, but BE CAREFUL! There are tons of scams!!!
When it comes to investing, you have to be wary of everyone! Your "friends," your girlfriends, your lawyer, and especially: Alex, for the French community!
The schemes are premeditated, sophisticated, and very well thought out...
So the Thai gov allows this because tourism is booming and helps their economy.
ОтветитьThanks for the good points raised Cal 😅 my motto in tourist areas never engage with anybody who approaches you. If you want something you’ll ask them 😊👍
ОтветитьBloody hell, why would you go to a holiday destination that can cause so much stress. You can be scammed before entering the country, you can be scammed travelling to your hotel, when you're shopping...why go? There's plenty of other destinations.
ОтветитьNever accept anything for free. Its a scam. Happened once. Never again.
Ответитьthe way you say song taew means 2 foot
ОтветитьThere's a reason why neighboring countries of Thailand call them "Thief Land". I guess foreigner can call Thailand "ScamLand".
ОтветитьGreat and valuable information
ОтветитьWhen you order bear gryles from Temu
ОтветитьYour first episode helped me a lot in a avoiding scams and be generally alert.
ОтветитьHey cal
I be in Thailand in September
I will be moving around
I will be in Pattaya for a few days but I need to travel back to Bangkok around midnight my only option is a taxi I have early flight to Phuket I’m worried about this have you any advise for this please
Get the foreigners out.
Ответитьthe only scam here is that haircut! 🤣😂 Jk! great video brother
ОтветитьBasically in bangkok, don't trust anyone who approaches you
Ответитьi've lived here 2 years and never been scammed
Ответитьyes i was scammed by a fake visa entry card site, it comes up as an advertised link on a google search for arrival visa
ОтветитьIf you are a sociable talk able person, the risk of scams in any country increase. The only conversations I engage in when I’m travelling, are the conversations that I initiate. No random conversations ever in a bar, in a restaurant, in a shopping mall or on the street . If I need a good or a service, I do the research. I never ever accept unsolicited offers for anything. Always ask what the price is upfront for anything you buy or any service you hire . Unless you are in a luxury mall, you can assume everything you buy is fake. This is not unique to Thailand. Tripadvisor is another good site for tours.
Ответитьjust avoid lots of types of people u can usually know from other encounters through life in all countries and keep out of others business
ОтветитьI got scammed just 3 weeks back in Bangkok. Middle Easter couple approached me and started talking .. they asked me to show my home currency and don’t know what made me fall for it.
Sleight of hand they scammed me of 5000 baths
Guys be careful of this.
People stealing from overhead luggage compartments? I'm calling BS on that one.
ОтветитьGreat overview. I've encountered a few of these scams just strolling along beach road in Pattaya. And alot of them in other Asian countries especially the my daughter is about to start studying in abroad scam 😂😂
ОтветитьNever take a regular tuk-tuk. Instead use a ride-hail app for tuk-tuks, like MUVMI. These are electric tuk-tuks, but still good/fun/convenient to use. And of course the prices are fixed and you do not pay White-Man-Prices. A win-win...
ОтветитьYour video makes a good argument for avoiding Thailand completely.
