So I ran the numbers....
35 2x4's at $7 costs $245
35 2x4's at $3.50 (normal price) costs $122,50
Double the normal price, but for $250 I'd say this bed is worth it!
That bed is going to forever be there. Probably about 300lbs at least
ОтветитьNice, that has to be heavy though?
ОтветитьTaxes 🤦🏾♂️
Ответитьthere is so much glue in this stuff that you call bed that when you go to sleep you breath it all the time!!! good luck.
Ответить36$ a piece of 2x4 in Norway
ОтветитьNot feeling the legs but I like the concept...bed looks great 👍🏻
ОтветитьLove the design and the sturdiness! I am about to build mine.
Just a quick question: would that be an issue if I could not find a planer or mill to make my 2x4s square?
That things gotta weigh 500 pounds...
ОтветитьI'm not sure this guy has much site experience
ОтветитьNicely designed. Simple yet elegant. The only thing I would do is it turn this into a more modular setup so one can move ithe bed more easily. For example:
1. Turn the platform into 3 modular pieces.
2. Instead screws exvery where, use like a thread insert to fasten the modular pieces together as well as fasten the modular pieces to the leg support.
Since this is for a king bed, onbce it's built, I don't the structure moving out of any room.
For economy and strength this works. Construction grade lumber off the shelf cuts at box stores, is about as fair as it gets for an expedient purchase and access method on average too. I might make one (with a few mods). ;-)
Edit: did my math - over 270.74' (feet) of wood , or 33.84 of 2"x4"x8' boards , for a total weight of 307lbs of wood. Add two adults = aprox 250-300lbs. Not including mattress, blankets, pillows, etc. I rounded a few measurements but the extra lost to kerf and such fits in close. A Common: 2-in x 4-in x 8-ft; actual: 1.6-in x 3.6-in x 8-ft, of Doug Fir is $3.63USD today 8/30/2023 so $123.42 + tax, glue (two bottles) and many screws.
Make me one!
ОтветитьНе впечатлило.
ОтветитьWhy the he** are you screaming to me?
ОтветитьMuy bueno excelente muchas Felicidades
ОтветитьIt’s made from 14 trees of course it’s sturdy 😅
ОтветитьHow did you match predrilled holes between spacers and the slats?
Ответитьthat is ridiculously over-engineered. a literal elephant could sleep on that bed. complete waste of wood and money.
ОтветитьСлишком надёжно! Так делать нельзя😂
ОтветитьBro's bed frame is indestructible...
ОтветитьStrange that he keeps cutting on the floor with his circular saw while he has a mitre saw.
Ответитьit looks so heavy
ОтветитьWhat do you do if you move?
Ответитьin india they are just 1.2 $
ОтветитьHawaii $8
ОтветитьAs everyone said, it cost $3.85 a 2x4 in Home Depot Detroit. I made a similar frame today and it cost me around $110 including screws and my drink. Awesome work
ОтветитьEach 2x4's weigh 8.5 lbs
ОтветитьТот момент, когда делать нехуй
Ответитьbeautiful bed good job!
ОтветитьHey @ModernBuilds, what a great looking bed! I am wondering how this bed is still holding up 2 years later. Any warping in the headboard as the 2x4s dried out over the years.
ОтветитьYou could have just made some of the spacers longer and they would be the legs.
ОтветитьWait, did you leave all the label ink on the 2x4s? I appreciate the YT hustle, the upbeat jump cuts, the sing songy voice-over, but it still just kinda looks like a pile of dimensional lumber...
Ответитьyou can park a car on that bed frame.
or have a couple 300lb people "bouncing" on it and the bed wont flinch.
Great design but too many unbevelled and sharp edges. It's only a matter of time before someone will need stitches around the knee area. You should also add a sign that says "no kids allowed" or "Frame hazardous To Kids"... or something like that.
ОтветитьOkay I love this but do you have any suggestions on a different approach to the legs for the bed instead of cutting down so many 10 inch pieces?
Ответитьwhat dimensions I need for double as the PDF document is for queens size which is too big for me .Please answer to my text
ОтветитьLook awful and not practical
ОтветитьThis is cool. I'm betting the Home Depot trip to get "straight" 2 X 4's took the most time for this project.
ОтветитьShould have made base in sections that could be taken apart easy for moving.
ОтветитьI live in Pennsylvania and 2x4's cost a litte under $3.50. But I could get them cheaper if I drove out to Home Depot or Lowe's then I could get them for like $2 each
ОтветитьThaaaaanks
Ответитьcrude but effective!🙂
ОтветитьNice bro
ОтветитьWood or board?
ОтветитьПлохо,нет перевода на русский язык
ОтветитьCreativity appreciated, but this bed design is not practical for me imo. No storage space, and around two corners it will hit hard your front part of leg while moving around subconsciously.
Ответить$6.91 each for 2x4 in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. Nice design.
