Am the only one who thinks this campaign was shit? This cemented it for me. If you don’t shoot your sergeant, he kills you. You are on his side, he has no reason to kill you. The other characters don’t like him because other squad mates were killed earlier and he is a glory seeker. But that doesn’t mean he is hostile.

Also the jet level was shit. The was the first battlefield on consoles to introduce jets. Aircraft are notoriously difficult to learn to fly in battlefield and the game puts in the navigator seat. Cinematic sure, but not fun, it’s a pretty turret shooter. You have to learn to fly in multiplayer where you have to unlock countermeasures. In multiplayer, you had players who had Stinger anti aircraft missiles (and Russian equivalent). As a noob, you had to learn to fly in a hostile environment. This encourages players to find empty servers in order to learn to fly without being attacked. That is not how a game should teach a player.

BC2 and B3 had Campaigns the rivaled the best of CoD...

till this day this game still stands up with some of the best texture quality games. I wish they just did a remaster and released it. don't change anything but remaster the textures

As someone that barely knew English when first playing through the campaign that Blackburn was in that interrogation room because Blue on Blue he did. My mind is blown.

I find it quite funny that Dice managed to make this amazing campaign and then followed it up with BF4's dogshit campaign. Idk how some people manage to look at bf4's campaign with rose-tinted glasses.
It was one of the most miserable single player experiences I have ever been through. The forced cringe dialogue, unlikeable characters, boring missions and incoherent plot was a far cry from battlefield 3.

really sad more games arent good like this anymore, cant say i have felt anything like how i felt playing battlefield 3 or Og modern warfare 2 games, they dont make em like they used to.

My roommate and i played through this campaign recently and i was in awe the entire time. Absolute banger campaign and this scene blew my mind and gave me chills. After we beat this game, we tried thought it makes sense to play bf4 next right? While the first 2 missions got me hyped just the rest of the game fell flat for me. I didn’t even finish it. Some features they added were neat but that campaign didn’t punch right to me like bf3 did.

That track really sells this scene.

True fucking amazing campaign

Battlefield 3 was the best and sadly most realistic game ever. Back then Dice had their political freedom and knowledge what COULD happen in the future.
Nowadays they are oppressed by too many parties in this f-ed up industry.
Battlefield 3 was the last free minded game (the last enjoyable Battlefield franchise) we had!

Cpt Cole was black so I liked him for that but at the same time he was a dickhead so I’d have shot him too😂

If anyone is here for not being able to shoot Cole, switch to semi-auto (press v) before going near Kaffarov. Or plug in an XBOX controller and press shoot both on mouse and the controller.

I remember when I was 11 years old and I played this game, I was so moved by this scene that I believed that it happened in real life, and the scene was a representation of an event that happened in real life, nowadays I never But I forgot about the scene and especially the music.
