Imagine you are five and people already forming alliances to get rid of you
ОтветитьGod damn italians. I hope elites will send in more refugees and torn apart your pitiful country. Suffer and perish in agony italy
ОтветитьBronze Age v steel
ОтветитьAt that time, Jesus hasn't been born
ОтветитьThe Phalanx didn't lose because the Roman legions were superior and more flexible. They lost because their leader was oblivious to changing situations, attacked before he had his reserves situated or his army concentrated, didn't have flexible command structure with subordinates who could take the initiative. This same army under Alexander would not have made those mistakes and would have won. His commanders were all capable leaders in their own right, and Alexander understood the strengths and weaknesses of his phalanx. Rome simply had a better leadership and training structure. None of the Successors to Alexander had his gifts of strategy and tactics, simply aping Alexander in everything. They made stupid decisions, took insane risks and they had no backup plan. For example, they copied Alexander's choice of commanding the cavalry on the right flank as a position of honor. They copied Alexander's example of leading his men on attacks. Alexander did this to emulate his hero Achilles. But, he had a backup plan and he had great generals behind him who could take over the army when he died. Not his fault that they all decided they could be Alexander and began in fighting. It was inevitable. Anyway, it would have been great if Alexander and Caesar or any competent Roman General could have faced each other on equal standing. That would have been an awesome battle.
ОтветитьPhillip: son, you know how you’ve always wanted to travel to strange and distant lands….
ОтветитьPride leads to stupidity which was Phillip's downfall. Never underestimate your enemy, and always attack with full force.
ОтветитьIt annoys me the most that people, "historians" and game makers do not know the difference between a phalanx and a pike formation.
ОтветитьWhat program is the animation created in?
ОтветитьGreat stuff....
ОтветитьThe kings period roman legion was equal to the greek phalanx army. But the roman discovered , going to batte with the Sannites that it was useless in to the hilly and moutainious land of central Italy. So they changed and adapted. This has always been one of the segret of the roman s legion. The new legion was far more capable to adapt to different terrain . The phalanx was capable to fight on only one type of terrain : flat plain. The romans were very capable to use this disadvantage of the phalanx.
ОтветитьThese romans that were saved by this pro-roman move that this tribune came up with must've been so high on morale and good spirits just seeing your army coming back from behind and saving your ass
Ответить이좋은 영상 한글자막이 있다면 최고였을텐데.....
ОтветитьRomans also used the phalanx battle formation.
ОтветитьI was gripped from beginning to end! On 75% speed is awesome 🐈⬛ Subbed
ОтветитьWhen youre around 40% outnumbered you dont split your forces and leave the terrain advantage to charge....
ОтветитьHow do the Macedonians lose occupying the high ground? Yes they were outnumbered but the idiot who fled (after being charged) cost them victory in account of his cowardly nature. Shameful.
ОтветитьHe couldn’t have been very intelligent ; all he had to do was call in the 1st Air Cav and a few Huey’s and Cobra gunships would have sent the elephants and men in sandals running for their lives !
Bla ha ha !
( sorry - I had 3 brothers serve in Vietnam , and I wanted to give any “ retirees “ -
a chuckle ! )
Great video.
What software you use for this animation?
Que programa usou para fazer esta animação?
Im designing a game that is quite similar to this.
After sending the first wave of reinforcements, Phillip should have took the remainder of his forces and flanked around to the rear and attacked the Roman camp directly. Pinching the Romans.
ОтветитьLa legion romana era superior a la falange griega.
Ответитьguys why does this make my cock hard
ОтветитьSince Cro Magnon, have the European-Mediterranean countries ever seen ten years of peace at a time?
ОтветитьЧёт очень все странно показано,правый фланг продавить ну никак нельзя где скопилась конница фаланги,легионы поджали надо стоять смотреть как маневры проходят.Очень странный бой
ОтветитьJesus is Lord 🙏
ОтветитьLame
ОтветитьNicely done, well animated.
ОтветитьCynoskefale means the heads of the 🐕 dogs
ОтветитьPhilip frelled up.
He should have waited for the rest of the army to come up the hill to form a line.
Why give away your main advantage?
Bro should have gotten a rough battle line formed before marching up hill I'm surprised he didn't just do that
ОтветитьLa música es insoportable
Ответить57,000 men and counting... must've been wild
Ответитьso the hypothesis is that mobility is why the maniple beats the phalanx?
ОтветитьКороче, по сути, фаланга лучше легиона, но все зависит от командующего
ОтветитьSkip at 9.00 minute for the real Battle
ОтветитьDiadochi generals after Alexander: cavalry? whats that? defending flanks? what? You mean charge the flanks into their flanks and lose the cavalry battle before the battle even starts? (battle of magnesia) Alexander and his companion cavalry all rolling in their graves in every battle of the diadochi.
ОтветитьPorque lo editan poniendo subtitulado en español cuando solo la mitad pude leer, el resto por más que intenté salió en inglés, una porquería, no entendí la definición final
ОтветитьThe Roman Legions were powerful not because of superior weapons, but because of flexibility with each tribune being able to flex the needs of the battle
ОтветитьAnd war elephants...epic
ОтветитьJust clicked on this vcideo to know that I had already put a like on it quite a few years ago.
ОтветитьThe Roman general was called Flamininus, not Flaminius. Calls into question your research…….
Ответитьwhile this is the best example we have it is worth noting that the roman side did have larger numbers as well as what could be considered "heavy calvary" in its war elephants during the battle so while the romans did win mostly due to the slow movements of the Macedonian left flank they did also have some advantages before the battle begun. As well as this the first engagement of the two main lines did show minor success of the phalanx formation allbeit with assistance from the incline.
ОтветитьYou know what’s funny, I remember a historian saying about the Macedonians: “You are carrying a 14 meter spear, you just can’t turn around.” I can imagine a Macedonian soldier just swinging his pike around and then making other soldiers fall in the process.
ОтветитьStupid music
ОтветитьThe BGM makes the war (video) so exciting =p
ОтветитьNot a good video to have in a play list while playing computer games! 🤣
{:o:O:}
I didn't watched the video yet, but the Legion probaly would win from Phalanx, if the greeks was smarter, getting bigger shields and shorter spears they would have bigger chances against the roman empire.
