Today, lighting up a cigar results in a technical foul on the bench and Adam Silver would be assessing a huge fine on the first coach or player that lights up a cigar on the court.

I don't rank players based on nostalgia. Russell wasn't as good as Shaq, Ewing, Embiid, hakeem, kareem. And none of the players on this list is good as Curry.

What GREAT footage!! For everyone who assumes that NBA players weren't athletic in the 60s and couldn't play today...I mean....JUST WATCH THIS! Look at the shooting!! Look at how quick Russell gets off the floor; watch Russ drive and slam dunk for the last basket- this is great play in any era.

There is a good view of the most unappreciated great player of all-time and that is, of course, Sam Jones. He was the greatest championship shooter in basketball history. However, he was also a great all-around player as well. He played on 9 title teams as a major contributor (played more than 50% of the schedule & top 6 in MinPG on each of the 9 teams). He & Jordan are the only backcourt players to ever lead those 6 such players on any title team in both PPG & FG% & they each did it 3X.

The smoothness to a lot of those mid range shots are actually quite solid. It’s the lack of Defense that really stood out to me. Hardly anyone ever has a hand in their face. It’s like they just let them shoot and hope for the best haha.

Before there was Bird and Magic, by then they change everything not to mention a man to follow named Michael (Jordan) later onward and by this time the NBA was going to be the ultimate sport that has matured and flourish to this day. OH HOW THE YEARS GO BY!!! Vanessa Williams thank you for putting a musical stamp on this glorious game.

Red lighting up the cigar after the Bill Russell dunk gives me goosebumps ngl. Doing it with the score that close, definition of playing the mental game and winning.

Bill Russell is a freak of nature. He's athletic, runs like a deer, agile, quick and fast. He literally can Guard smaller players. No centers move like that in today's NBA.

I realized that 60s and 70s player in my opinion is much better. The false believe of everyone that today is more skilled but it wrong. Imagine they had only limited playstyle because of rules. No palming the ball while dribbling is struggle in my opinion.
