An English breakfast Scottish? Bangers and mash? Thumbs down
ОтветитьPlease try mince and tatties 🥔 and steak pie peas and potatoes. Utterly delicious 😋 food!
ОтветитьIsn't Cockaleekie soup ne of those 'must try' foods?
ОтветитьI was just there in July. Where the hell is Greggs at?
ОтветитьWait...what? "Vegetarian Haggis?" No no no no....Sacrilege! LOL Great video. I can tell I am not going to lose any weight on this holiday.
ОтветитьYou guys didn't travel budget by any means, did you? Happy to hear how much you guys enjoyed our wee country. 🏴
ОтветитьWish I could have enjoyed this video but the lady's vocal fry made it impossible to continue watching.
ОтветитьScottish is Sean Connery 007 ❤
ОтветитьDo you have any single friends?
ОтветитьVegetarian Haggis ? So it aint really Haggis then is it
ОтветитьArbroath smokies is a must try on your next trip. Just watch out for the bones.
ОтветитьTraditional Haggis isn't illegal in the USA. There is a ban on importing it, but there is still plenty made here as well.
ОтветитьHaggis is not illegal in the US, as you say. Haggis can be/is imported to the US as long as it is not made with suet, a type of lard. Also, if you attend Scottish festivals &/or Burns Night dinners, there is Haggis served, more than likely prepared locally. The American Haggis has no comparison to the Real Scottish Haggis. Sláinte Mhath🏴
ОтветитьLoved the vid you might like to try Scottish sweets, wonderful. Tablet, macaroons (lees are best)! Snowballs again Lees are fab, Edinbrgh Rock, Bon Bons. Oh and try Pinapple Tarts, very Scottish and amazing.
I live in England now and my greay uncle Harrys Tablet is a life saver, love making it.
Oh our Ice Cream is wonderful, loads of Italians moved to Scotland after the was and for me Mussebrugh has fantastic ice cream shops. The best is Perries in Kilmacolm, west of Glasgow they put condensed milk in it, mind blowing.
Scotland is a god awful country I don't know why anybody goes
ОтветитьThat is not a proper breakfast a proper breakfast like messy in greasy in a heart attack waiting to happen 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьSgadan and Marag-gheal are also ones to try. It's interesting that haggis would be illegal to sell in the US, considering that Cajun Boudin is very similar.
Loved the video, and now I'm hungry, thank you very much! 😂🤣😋
Lorne or square sausage should be on this list
ОтветитьAvoid by all means
ОтветитьYou sbould go to The Bombay Cottage in Hamilton
Ответить1. Deep Fried Mars Bar. 2.Cock 'a Leeky an' chips. 3. Glasgow Kiss with Crepe bandages. 4.'Seez yoo Jimmy cocktail. 5. "Geezusinitbloodycold" (Traditional Scottish Greeting)
ОтветитьSquare sausage and Scotch pies please.
ОтветитьThe first cookies were a German brand 🫣😂
ОтветитьNo roll and square??
Ответитьamazing quality
ОтветитьThat's the saddest fry up I've ever seen. Prisoners and rat eat better than that.
ОтветитьI am Scottish and I love eggsbenadict
ОтветитьBest fish & chips I had was in Portree
ОтветитьIn 1950s when the Scottish invaded our homes and land in Cyprus Greece and murdered my family.
My father would poison the Greek food in his restaurant and the Scots Guards and other British Crown soldiers naïve enough to come into town got a real taste from Cyprus Greece.😀😄😉
The British had to eventually stay out of towns and import their food from Britain. Because so many British soldiers got food poison or died. 😆😅🤣😂
We are still here celebrating the death of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II with the Eoka veterans’ association and activist and the civilian survivors who proudly resisted and defended Cyprus from the British Crown in the 1950s. I proudly say. It really is an honour, indeed. Cheers. 🍻🍺
And Greece is among the few nations – and the only EU member state – not to have been officially visited by the Queen.
And It gives me immense pleasure to announce that, indeed.
Surprised you didn’t try Cranachan… its like an Eton mess but with oats all sorta of berries and cream with whiskey…
ОтветитьI recommend Loch Fyne kippers, and cranachan (but not mixed together).
ОтветитьStovies....we mainly have that in Winter time as it's a heavy meal but it keeps you going.
ОтветитьJust back from a wee camping trip to Skye. The pizza from Portree's 'Pizza In The Skye' is the best I have ever tasted - truly exceptional. I'd just add, when in my home town of Edinburgh you must explore the gin scene. There are some fantastic small distilleries here. Some of the best are in my own neighbourhood of Leith.
ОтветитьWatching this makes me ponder how much salmon was in my ancestral diet and makes me wonder if I need to consider forking out the ludicrous $$$ salmon price tag...
ОтветитьAmerican with Scottish ancestry here.
I'm still upset I can't try haggis cus the gov't won't allow people to sell lungs as an offal due to some tuberculosis scare in the past.
If ever you see "farmed" smoked salmon on a menu, refuse it... The whole salmon farming industry is obliterating our wild salmon stocks and population with sea lice issues etc... Not to mention the chemicals they pump into farmed salmon's feeding pellets...
If you see rod caught wild salmon.. Your OK.. If you see farmed salmon on the menu... Don't even bother.. 👍
That Scottish breakfast looked so disappointing and the plate was empty.
ОтветитьThe black pudding, as you had for your breakfast is a staple in the northeast breakfast
but it also had another place, sunday in the north east, was big day for going out drinking, workmans clubs, pubs and the likes
as it ws a big day, the bar owners or club owners user to put plates up on the bar or trays, which contained, mini cheddrs, cubes of cheese, pickled onions and black pudding, which had not been fried, the slice you had was fried, we eat it as is, i still do to this day. i eat fied, and sometimes
at home watching football, put plate up, black pudding, onions, mini cheddars or crisps, few cans of beer
it is a northe east thing, i have live in london and on the south coast, and you cant buy it.
i have a couple things, one will make you smile, the other will make you think what the hell.
Im from the northeast of england, im 58 now, so im going back in the day of the 80's. when we were teens, the first drink, as a teen in pub
in them days, usualy about 16 years old, there was no ID checks, if you looked old enough, thats why you see so many teens in the 80s with moustache, make us look older lol, but the first drink was snake bite, it was half lager and half cider, in pint glass, you get a cloudy look and a funny head, but misxing made it strong, the reason i said it was funny, scotland with its beers and whiskey, they would not serve snake bite in scotland, it was deemed to be to strong, we had to con the bar staff, buy pint of lager for me, pint cider for the wife, ask for half glass, as ladies then did not drink out of a pint glass, then order half coke, throw the coke, now we have to empty half glasses, mix under that table, this is true.
I just made some homemade scone yesterday, 25 minutes including cooking, happy to pop over the way i make them, , scones, less is more making them lol
ОтветитьHi Madalyn and adam, yeah there are great scottish farms in scotland for salmong, but the also the norway does great farmed salmon,
watching your videos, i see you like the smoked salmon, I was a manager of a wholesale fish market in london, for 10 years, so i know my fish seafood and you did have the best. We had a tour one time, from a smoked salmon producer, was really great experience.
I love fish and chips😊
ОтветитьThe "full Scottish Breakfast" appears to be identical to the "full Irish Breakfast" we had when visiting there, and which also appears to match the "full English Breakfast". I guess it's common throughout the British Isles.
ОтветитьFish and chips and scones. That’s about it for me!
ОтветитьGreat video but you forgot their savoury pies. They’re the best pub food.
Ответить"Let us know" in Scotland, might be "Lettuce, no" (or "nay').
Ответить
