Hands On Roland VAD Drum Kits | Home Of Drums

I bought a 506 kit. I have to say that not one of the kits was usable without serious tweeking. A lot of the kits are just a waste of time, almost a joke. First thing I did was re eq everything, then take most of the room efex off as they were all just way too much, also the oh setting drasticaly effected all the tone, just turn all the sends down. There are only really 2 cymbals that need resizing and pitching to get different sounding crash cymbals. Next thing I did was sell the VH10 and by the VH14, a world of difference. Now I have 2 kits that sound amazing, the rest will be replaced with variations of the same perfect kit for me, but most people only have 1 acoustic kit.

The one ya'll show isn't the 503, the 503 comes with a 14 inch crash and a 10 inch rack tom, the video shows a 16 inch crash and 12 inch rack tom taken from the more expensive 506 drumset.

So the VAD have the same module as the KD27, so other than the look of the kits. ( what are the differences ) are the VAD symbols and hi hat better quality ? are the triggers different ? are the heads on the drums different or better on the VAD or have a better triggering system ? does the bass drum have a more realistic feel because of it having the bigger head ?  how easy is it to use superior drummer drum samples with one of these kits ? since the Roland sounds still sound like electronic drums

also I wish the VAD came with a rack for more flexibility for setting things up.

Half the demos make the snares sound unusable, half make them sound good. They didnt touch on any of the highest quality kits in this demo. I know the sounds are quite useable, put them in a song and they sound amazing. I have recorded a TD1 for years, it blows away acoustics unless you have a studio engineer and outboard gear up the wazoo.

The 306 doesnt get the edge drum triggers or the thinner crashes. Only the 500 series.

how are the drums/cymbals connected to the drum module?

How much louder are these compared to for example the TD-50 pads?

I've already getting mine preordered so can ship asap. Roland literally just started making these so gonna take a month or so to receive. Definitely going with the VAD506 full size model. I already have a homemade kit so u can add 3 extra pads into the module. I have 2 cy14's and 1 cy15 so I'm going to have one badass kit plus with Addictive Drums it's a no brainer. Remember nowadays u can usually find a decent acoustic kit with cheap cymbals for cheap online which usually changing heads and tuning right can make it sound good. But E-drums are so versatile, I mean I play Rockband on my ekit now which is super fun and helped me learn drums. But I'll be able to with this kit & now with bluetooth, SD cards, etc..E-Drums have taking over in drumming

What's the point of making an e-kit with wood shells? The main purpose of e-kits in my opinion is to offer a more practical alternative to drummers who cannot take their kits everywhere or do not have space in their houses for accoustic drumsets. Not to mention the waste of trees making drums that will not resonate. Pathetic.
