A true accuracy weapon 😂
ОтветитьSo the follow up question is how much closer would you need to be to shoot up on to the roof from the ground
ОтветитьAmazing historical research and as a longbow 🏹 hunter shooting a 75 lbs which is considered a heavy bow by friends I’m in awe of 140lbs war bows !
ОтветитьYou could just have calculated it...
ОтветитьYou couldve calculated the trajectory curve ^^ its even quite easy. Would be interresting how accurate it wouldve been.
Ответитьwhats a yard ?
ОтветитьIt is such an elementary physics problem. Simply calculate the curve of the flight on flat ground, raise the launch point the height of the roof and calculate the impact along that curve's.
Ответить140lbs???? how many arrows can you shoot before your back gives out, or your shoulder dislocates, like 10?
Ответитьso basically how high up you are, is how much further you can shoot
ОтветитьНе понял почему 10% дальности озвучивается как "намного дальше", 10% это очевидно не "намного".
Ответитьto see all of those weapons in actions is just fantastic thank you for doing it i love the chemistry between you and joe and the competition too it friendly and i love history to see history coming alive is awsome joe is a fantastic archer and you are a fantastic teacher and crafstman
ОтветитьI'm really not sure if I really like, or, hate todds shirt he is wearing. On the one hand, it is kinda funny to see that image on a t-shirt, but on the other hand he's are wearing an image that's basically the western military standard for target shooting and I've seen what kinda people they let in.
Ответитьfucking imperial units
Ответитьno wonder skeletons of longbowmen have their spines twisted lol.
ОтветитьI bet Joes lawn mower starts first time every time
ОтветитьYou can see how hard it is for him to shoot the arrow yet he instantly goes for the next one. competitive man!
ОтветитьShooting arrows off the battlement. Some bloke walking his dog: 👁️👄👁️
Ответитьi can feel the power in that bow just hearing it. yeeeesh
ОтветитьDi I hear a little fart.?
ОтветитьWhat about Schuppenpanzer?
I want to see how scale armor and lamellar armor compares.
kind of a zesty release
ОтветитьIf both towers had been available during the siege they probably would have attempted to man both in order to cover both approaches. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the siege were the reason for having added the battlements on the church tower. The church throws quite a shadow there otherwise that would give quite a bit of cover to attackers from that direction.
ОтветитьBefore watching I'm guessing it doesn't go much farther unless the wind is going in the same direction
ОтветитьI target shoot my 50lb contemporary takedown recurve bow and hunt with an 80lb takedown longbow. I don't think I could pull 140lbs flat and then elevate for my shot ten times in a row. And he's not that big. That technique looks a bit weird but it gets banging results.
ОтветитьJoe needs to learn how to pull his pants up, it was annoying me 😁
Ответитьhow many toenails fit in a yard?
ОтветитьMind the middle finger
ОтветитьWhy does this dude lean like he giving up his ass when he shoots his shot?
ОтветитьIt will hurt my head to work it out but you measured the hypotenuse of the triangle not the distance away so exact answer will be less
ОтветитьThe long bow surpassed fire rates of muskets until bolt actions and revolvers
ОтветитьWhat's scary is that back then you wouldn't here a bang you'd just feel the broad head rip through you💀
ОтветитьI’d love to learn how to make bows. I want one that is middle Eastern in origin. I’m looking for the bow is more reflective and I need one that I can fire off the thumb. I’m looking for a bow that is made for using on horse back.
ОтветитьThe widely accepted rule is to use farther when being literal and discussing a physical distance. For example, "He went farther down the road".
ОтветитьI've seen a few longbow experts on video and they all have a similar stance: Lean forward and arse out before they let fly. Frankly, the snap of the string is a very impressive indication of the power of the bow! A 140 pound draw weight bow is not for weaklings, to lift 64 kilos with one hand (and 2 fingers!) is an incredible feat.
The "loser will buy us a pint of beer" bet is a win-win! Everybody gets at least one pint of beer - then the winner has to reciprocate and we are off, heading for a hangover...
Changing the center of gravity of the arrow could improve the result
The firing angle would probably be changed
Your ending angle theory was disproved as soon as you saw the arrows in the ground, almost all were at a 35-45 degree angle.
ОтветитьDoes his bow have a 145# draw weight???
ОтветитьHe's no robin hood.
ОтветитьProjectile from a height is like grade 11 mathematics. What he says with the angle is correct if its close to 90 degrees. As it decreases the difference will increase till it reaches a max at 45
ОтветитьWhy is he sticking his rear out like that. His whole stance means that he can never be accurate. Not to mention he looks like he's bunged up trying to push one out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьWhy’s his stance so zesty
ОтветитьI don't speak yards.
ОтветитьI think the main reason you thought that the angle was so great on the last meters is because that's what the arrows look like stuck in the ground, but you've got to bear in mind that when the arrows sticks in the ground, it's horizontal velocity makes it rotate a bit and so it sticks up more than the angle it had just before touching the ground.
ОтветитьWhy did they measure in yards? I mean I appreciate not having to convert it but they are from the UK.
