.injectors around 500 ( after core ) x 6
Hoses 30$
A/c compressor 350$
Blower 200$
a/c Hoses 200 to 400$
Drums/pads 150 each x 6
Front plate leaking ( isx common issue ) 450$ new plate and 60$ new gasket
Hardly any of these mentioned happen all at once and usually stretched out during a period of few months or a year..if you see a dry rotted hose on a brake chamber and you don't replace it ( 30$ ) and it leaks while you're on the road, that's a YOU issue..
The reason you're Falling is YOU over Exerted yourself with DEBT..not because your old truck needed parts replace because it was approaching 20 years of age.
Replacing Parts is manegable, because it can stretch out during a period of months before anything else is needed..but a 4k+ a month payment shows up every month
All the things just mentioned cost around 5,700$ usd..that you gladly pay now every month..

Transmission old vs new
10 speed = 3.5k usd
New automatic = 15k to 20k usd

Cost of Def and all it's glory
20k to 40k during a course of 3 to 5 years...lol..Don't mention old trucks anymore, because you clearly didn't learn anything from your endeavor

That's why the nuclear family is important and the wife and the kids need to understand why dad is not home and that's why it's important to have a wife that doesn't work and stays at home it's not a hard concept but you can thank feminism

The mistake you made was to start leasing and then you continue leasing and then you continue leasing . The worst part is that you thought you were OWNER operator .
Like you say , some make it but most don’t . Because that business model was created to scam people.

Im telling ya man i feel you. I did otr for 3 years while my wife tried holding the house down with our kids and a full time job. Every night we spoke i could hear he trying her best to be strong in order for me to do what i have to do to further our life’s but i could hear she was struggling. After otr i came local eff all that otr crap especially in this economy and these modern days the trucker is no longer respected or paid. I know ppl shit on local and yes you work long hrs but in my scenario i know i have my 2 days off a week, home every night paid for all my time hrly and benefits. It feels good to come home be with my kids, sports, take them and pick them up from school and help my wife at home with laundry, dinner, errands, and what not. Jack knife tv i know you have did more in life than me so if i can do it u can to brotha. I also pay child support for a previous relationship for 2 kids, and am in the hole for like $20k with the irs on an installment plan. Dif brother don’t give up. I had those nights where i just wanted to disappear and run away but your family is still in the same position whether you get back up and try again and be broke, or you gone/disappear your family still going to be broke and struggling. My wife told me i rather be broke with you here than broke and not have you here. There is solutions brother keep pushing your not the only one struggling we are all struggling one way or another.

I've owned a few trucks. 4. If u want to own a tracking company, the best thing u can do is buy a trucking companies stock. I bought pam transport jb hunt old domain, we're most of my gains came from. Honestly. My first truck I did a lease purchase , second one i made payments my 3rd one i refused to buy one till i gad the cash, got lucky on a daytrade. Walked in with cash and they made me get a check.

Second thing is when u own it be easy on it. Drive slow. Speeding up and slowing down repeatedly over n over in traffic is Luke taking a peice of medel bending it back n forth over n over till it breaks.

People get mad at me but I don't have much maintenance. I get on the road like a freight train, I slowly over 30 miles get it up to were I did the math on were I need to be.

Hey brother I going thru the same thing I was always OTR owner ! 6 kids with 1st wife so I paid child support plus insurance and 2nd wife screwed me with IRS 195k and she never paid child support so now I owe 102k but I’m not giving up just taking it day at a time!! Don’t give up Brother!!

Trucking has been my identity for 35 years. I wouldn't change a thing. It's housed and fed 6 people from 2 separate families over the years. Hang in there bro.

I was deployed 3 times. Shit broke down when I was down range. You have to have a contingency plan. You have to have a strong spouse. You need to have a plan. You need to get out a sheet of paper. Draw a big plus sign. Write down the pros and cons of trucking. If the cons out weigh the pros. Find something else. Trucking is a lifestyle, not a job.

True facts. It’s not for everyone! Some became successful with it and others have failed. Some have failed and stuck with it and became successful. You and your family are truly the sacrifice. Hope things get better for you and yours brother.
