p&o cruises disgraceful late night buffet

ffs dont eat at that time of night, ive never felt the need to eat anymore food after my evening meal on any of the cruises ive sailed on.

Been on a few cruises never understood tge need to eat at 1130pm. Gluttony springs to mind

You can’t expect it to be a fast paced line like you said there is 5800 people aboard your ship that’s a lot of fuckin food for the chefs to cook, they need to be restocking the buffet every couple of minutes. Be grateful your able to be on their and not sitting at home. Petty shit.

Why are people still eating at that time of night ? Would they do that at home pure greed if you ask me

I don't recall ever having a full buffet late at night.

One of the problems with buffets which I have noticed is where the counters are exclusively parallel to the sides of the ship forming a single straight set of counters. People tend to think either queue up at the start do you go straight for what you want halfway along the queue or wait behind people who are after totally different things to what you want?. People think you are pushing in but why wait behind a load of passengers who want something from the far end? A random island layout is much more efficient as you get more shorter queues at points where you want the relevant fayre.

You moaning about nothing

Just come of the Iona after a Christmas markets cruise, never again it was full capacity far to many people for my liking and overall the food was average. The only saving grace was our last night in the limelight club which served very nice food and we had Kevin Simm as the star act. Much prefer a smaller ship like Ventura

Honestly though...who needs to eat a buffet at midnight? It's not even healthy to eat that late and go to sleep 1-2 hours later. The meals on ships are so huge that it seems like it would be easy to have a big dinner and make it through to breakfast the next day.

Contrary to the poster's comment, this is NOT meant to feed 5200, this is meant to feed the late-night peckish people and is being served just a few hours after a three course meal in the main dining rooms. The full buffet menu is served until 11pm, it's reduced and re-opened late

Thats the life "cruisers" love...loads of body contact,as on rush hour Subway. How wonderful is that stuck in a boat for 2 week with nowhere else to go.
Did it once,and was more than enough.
The noise,rude,drunk people 24/7 during 7 days and "trapped" inside that huge boat with no other choice than to endure another lousy night,with drunk people knocking at doors,almost Shouting with each other,have you next room neigbhours very excited until 6 am for their first cruise,with the tv on all night long,flushing the alcohol and food every 15 minutes...and much,much more "exciting" new experiences on board.
They said there were 4 or 5 pools,but i dont was able to see the water because it looked like a elephant seals colony.
Just terrible.
Ps: oh,the next door neighbours besides party,also loved to Fart like Brown Bears. Amazing stuff.

Full catering and meals finish at 9.30pm, this is just the leftovers from the restaurants really so there's no waste. You can't expect full catering at 1am in the morning

The smaller P and ) ships are far better. The Arcadia is nice and there are no kids as its adult only.

I honestly couldnt find anything to grumble about - what were you expecting another 3 course meal at midnight? It is self service after all so why were you so surprised to see people queueing and mingling about? Personally speaking I think its gluttony.

I don't see anything wrong with that! Why do you need a huge meal at midnight anyway? Considering how cheap P&O are to cruise with compared to other cruise lines I don't see any reason to complain.

I used to laugh at all the people who were getting full platefuls at the midnight snacks on Iona when I only really went in after the shows at the skydome to get a hot choclate and maybe a little cake

Been on this cruise, never had an issue at all. May be wise to avoid obvious busy times, but if you use your common sense, all is well. Some people will moan about anything!

Does p&o have buffet closing time, i was carnival splendor nearly 2 weeks ago, buffet closed at around 10.30pm but had a pizza place that closed at 4am

I just came back from a Holland America cruise and late night supper was a hell of a lot better than this. I was thinking of going with a cheaper cruise line next time round, but this has put me off.

Ridiculous and greedy to even want and expect to eat at that time of day anyway.. what's wrong with a biscuit and a cup of tea in the room, and then a hearty breakfast when you wake up?
