The underground city was built by first christians to get protection from roman empire...a little correction.. the in some parts the ceiling is very low to force roman soldiers to take off their famous armours...

I have seen your Roof Top breakfast in Istanbul. That breakfast was so awful, I was curious how you did with Cappadocia travel. And excellent! Have fun!

I was there 25 years ago and remember being told the region was created by the volcanoes you can see in the distance. The fairy castles are created by erosion over thousands of years. Finally Christians were persecuted and took refuge and protection by building their homes in the rocks.

Carol diarrhea is the worst. Especially in a hot air balloon.

I have done this in Cappadocia a few years ago, I think it's the best place in the world to hot air balloon.

Wow! The balloon ride looked magical almost surreal! The castle and the underground city are extraordinary!! I'm trying to imagine how people could live in there and move about always having to carry torches to see and crouching while carrying items back and forth.Watching you going through the narrow tunnels triggered some claustrophobia.The footage in the video is awesome! HOORAY that you two got to travel above that region in the hot air balloon after all! What a fantastic experience (and more tranquil than just flying over it in a plane or viewing drone footage)! That multi-layed underground city was amazing with so MANY details, defenses,etc. However, I can't help but think of how GLOOMY it would have been for the inhabitants in the centuries before electric lights were an option with just torches, oil lamps or tallow candles to attempt to have lit the rooms. I can imagine how nasty the musty, foul ODORS must have been with 20,000 people and their livestock staying there for indefinite periods until the danger was over. Regardless, it was fascinating to visit and I appreciate you sharing it with us! I hope Carolina got better quickly! Thanks for this!
