Sweet new video. I will make this my bedtime video tonight
ОтветитьWeird how Squirrel King had music from Donkey Kong Country, but the Donkey Kong game had music from a Mario game.
(Technically chipmunks are squirrels.)
I hope you do get your 40k asap! Good, consistent content!
ОтветитьThe silliest thing about Super Donkey Kong 99 is, for whatever reason, there's a Michael Jackson shout on the title screen. Of course, bootlegs tend to have some kind of silliness like this, so it's par for the course.
That, and there's the ending where it's DK and Ditty just staring at each other, unless you're playing the "Super King Kong 99" revision where there is a proper ending animation!
Have you seen the Genesis Port of Super Mario Bros? Besides the colors being a bit off and the sound font being different, the gameplay is essentially the same as the NES version
ОтветитьI gotta say I really enjoy your channel it's always informative 😊 keep up the amazing content
ОтветитьThe music in the DK Country bootleg is a poor remake of the "bonus rooms" from Super Mario All-Stars. It took me a while to remember, lol.
ОтветитьNice to see some Genesis bootlegs. But here's the bonus question. Are there any bootlegs out there that managed to be better than the official games? Keeping it to cartridge systems were there any bootlegs so good it made the official offering look bad?
ОтветитьI like the chinese music in the Lion King 2 game
ОтветитьGenesis bootlegs are quite interesting, they aren't as numerous as their NES counterparts but do have a personality all their own. The Mario ones always stood out the most to me in particular for being so strange. Nice work going over them Pojr!
ОтветитьOMG SOMARI HI SOMARIIIII 😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ответитьits actually FALSE that its impossible to make DKC on the genesis/megadrive, there would need to be some compromises or additional chips in the cartridge but its entirely plausible.
However the bootleg is just graphics swapping poorly, not actually recreating it properly. The GBC and GBA both have DKC ports and prove that it is possible IF time effort and proper care to code it was actually done.
I remember playing Donkey Kong 99 on an emulator years ago. Sooo bad!
ОтветитьI have came early to peak
ОтветитьYeah, some of them are bad, but at least they are not those bootleg games from Russia. The ones with the creepy game over screens that use images taken from shirts and other places.
ОтветитьGreat video!
I am wondering which Streambeats track was used at the 55ish second mark, I would love to hear the whole track.
Good stuff! I played Squirrel King and the Mario version many years ago. They were kind of fun for what they were, but I remember them being pretty challenging as they were still a bit wonky.
There is another Genesis bootleg game I've played that is actually decent called "Super Bubble Bobble MD". It's not a half bad Bubble Bobble bootleg game.
Pissed Off Junior
ОтветитьYour intro sounds like a Shantae track. I know your outro is from pac man arrangement. Is it from a game or is it an original gameboy song?
Ответить👍 video
ОтветитьHow do people know so many things about such things? Like, it's 2024. Why are we still caring that they trolled us with a non-existent level on the box art? I mean, it was interesting... We should be doing more with our lives...
ОтветитьOld and busted: Chip as Indiana Jones
The new hotness: Chip the Pimp
No Problem me actual self and my 5 Year old self also dislike the original Lion King Game, it is just not good.
ОтветитьFor the Lion King games, the manual claims adult Simba as Mufasa.
ОтветитьTrusty Television Tips (formerly Additional Notes): The Gameboy line of consoles was not immune to bootlegs either.
ОтветитьI think calling a game, "Fantasy Boy" wouldn't work
ОтветитьI wonder if the company wanted to go legit and not make bootleg games
ОтветитьObviously?
ОтветитьThere's also bootleg games on the SNES, Game Boy, and even a handful on the PS1. There's also bootleg arcade games as well as bootleggers hacking SNES and Genesis games to be coin operated for arcades.
ОтветитьOK, you didn't went with the giant ball boss from Mario World 64
Ответить40k by years end lol boss im hoping 100k by summer for you lol happy holidays bossman
ОтветитьAs someone who is a Sega fanboy, I already have intense knowledge on Sega Genesis bootlegs. Nethertheless, this is great to see!
ОтветитьThere are a few things I have to say but also correct you on
1. I find it a little ironic that there’s even a bootleg lion King two even before the official lion King two movie which came out in 98, but the game came before in 95 or 96.
2. You said you choose to play was both young simba and “adult” Simba. I say adult in quotations because that’s actually meant to be Mufasa and it’s more obvious on the character select in The Lion King 3.
3. It’s so strange how there’s even super Mario world on the NES considering there are actually two official Mario games that have the sprites straight out of Mario world with those two games being Mario is missing and Mario‘s Time Machine.
The games shown in this videos aren’t really bootlegs
ОтветитьTo be fair to Genesis, it could definitely do a better version of Donkey Kong Country than this bootleg one, but it definitely couldn't match the SNES version in multiple ways. It could have more horizontal view though.
Ответитьreminds me of mega man x3 for genesis,
ОтветитьDK99 looks like a retooled version of DKC3 for SNES lol
ОтветитьLiterally nobody said bootlegs were exclusive to the NES. Honestly, the videos here are getting more and more baity...
Ответить
