Andrew, you are an awesome tour guide! I live in Ireland, and NOLA is my favorite American city. I've visited four times, and have walked through the Garden District, but not since 2013. I'm attending a wedding in a few weeks, staying at the Pontchartrain Hotel, and your narrative made me even more excited to explore the area. I can't wait to tell my mother-in-law about the doomed Eiffel restaurant as she lived in Paris for many years and I'm sure she doesn't know about it!
ОтветитьHi from New Zealand!🇳🇿Love your thorough & informative tours of New Orleans!🎷
ОтветитьIt’s harder to hear the talking in this one
ОтветитьThese are great videos. But it's a shame you don't seem to be using a LAV mic. It's hard to hear the commentary over the traffic often.
ОтветитьChrist church cathedral has ties to Tennessee. Bishop Leonidas Polk is buried inside the church. He was one of four brothers who all had plantations outside Columbia, TN. At the point where their properties converged, Leonidas built a church called St John's at Ashwood. Leonidas became bishop of Louisiana. They called him the fighting bishop because he actually fought for the confederacy. He wanted to be buried at Ashwood in TN but ended up being buried there in New Orleans.
ОтветитьYet they claim blacks are the worst people on the planet.😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️Caucasians
ОтветитьAmazing
I made a tour by yours videos and enjoyed very much
Music culture food
Thank you
I visited New Orleans in 2004 and stayed at a bed and breakfast that was right on St Charles, by Audubon Park. I took the street car all the way to the French quarter and back. I did visit again in 2016 and passed by it on a bus tour. I fell in love with the city on that first trip, and hope I can go again one day!!!
ОтветитьGreat idea to walk. Sound is good .Content excellent. Thank you
Ответитьinteresting video thanks
ОтветитьYou're brave walking alone with all those black gangs down there
ОтветитьMy goodness where does all that money come from. Not just the purchase but the taxes and upkeep.
ОтветитьI LOVE THAT ST. CHARLES TROLLEY. When I visit NOLA, I get my all day pass for the trolleys and I ride that St. Charles trolle for hours just back and forth and stopping at the different restaurants on St. Charles when I get hungry. I love NOLA, it is my all time favorite city in the US.
ОтветитьLiar stop ! Was just their a dump 6 shootings first night 4 year old 👧 killed in French quarter April 25.
ОтветитьI love your channel and plan on moving there in Louisiana
ОтветитьFor those interested that mansion on Harmony St. can be found in Zillow though is currently not for sale. The interior is actually more stunning than the exterior. Also the roof has a lawn with a garden and some nice views of the city and neighborhood. It's also curious the street view of the house is censored on Google maps though readily apparent in Zillow and on this YT vid.
ОтветитьHey Andrew 👋 I'm still hurt that I had to cancel my vacation to NOLA because of hurricane Ida. I have healed since then & plan on making a return in June. I am looking at hotels & airbnb's. I was looking at the Rathbone Mansions & understand its residential. Is Esplanade Ave friendly to Tourist or would you recommend I stay on Canal Street? Thanks
ОтветитьBeautiful big houses.Thanks.
ОтветитьBeing paralyzed I love watching your walking tour since I can't actually go walk there myself I find them very interesting and by watching them you do learn a lot about the city great job
ОтветитьLike to know when the walk takes place, day and time, for other videos. I enjoy reminencing.
ОтветитьHi Venmo is saying I need to confirm with the last digits of your phone number
ОтветитьAndrew wanted to thank you for bringing back old an beautiful memories from younger days living their.I've been gone for many years. Thanks to you I don't feel so far away. Thanks
ОтветитьThis might be a speciality request - have to done a tour of the gay bars or lgbt history of the area?
Ответитьthe way you say y’all in all of your videos sounds painful. use it more sparingly and try to sound more comfortable with it
ОтветитьI rode the St. Charles streetcar to school every day. As Andrew says, there’s something to look at every day.
The clanging sound is part of New Orleans , the funniest “sounds “ though are our many dialects. When somebody calls it “Mahr- a-gin-(hard g) -knee” or “Chop-it -too-lass” that’s Irish Channel.
The tinkling bells of St. Charles Cathedral rang out across Jackson Square every hour and around the corner we got our morning coffee at the French Market.
Read “Intimate Enemies: the Two Worlds of the Baroness Pontalba” (Vela) to learn the history of the most fascinating city in the country.
Can I suggest a mic by your mouth?
ОтветитьThank you again for another beautiful vid ☺ This must be a very wealthy part of town.
ОтветитьAt Jackson, surprised you didn't mention the St. Patricks parade. :(
ОтветитьWonderful Andrew! Thank you so much for showing the world how special New Orleans is. Thirty years ago I had lived here for 5 years. I left my heart in New Orleans (and my brain in Boston where I went to Harvard)
ОтветитьThank you so much for the tour and seeing where we will be staying on St. Charles Avenue. Look so forward to coming to visit in a couple of weeks.
ОтветитьWow, what's crazy is people are allowed to walk where the tracks are!
ОтветитьOh... too bad. The dialog isn't loud enough 🥺
ОтветитьAudio is a bit low on this one.
ОтветитьI moved here 2 months ago, and Lyft drive all over the city almost everyday, your videos have helped me learn New Orleans in such an amazing way!! Thank you!!
ОтветитьMost of the 20C architecture is hideous but the older neighborhoods are beautiful and charming. Fast food joints and modern buildings are an eyesore
ОтветитьNew subscriber here. I like the style of the video.
ОтветитьTruman Capote used to frequent Bayou Bar at the Pontchartrain, Andrew! (It might have had another name then, but it was definitely there.)
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video! Your video makes me feel like I'm really there. It's a great way to see the place and glad you take the time to do this type of thing!
ОтветитьBuying New Orleans for a Fargo Grape Soda
ОтветитьNew subscriber here Andrew. First video I've watched and already totally impressed. Grew up outside NOLA.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks for sharing:) Big Like.
ОтветитьDo Audubon zoo next
ОтветитьWonder where The Iguanas will play on Wednesdays now that Circle Bar "ain't dere no more". Great homage to the Rex house.
ОтветитьIf I find the 3 people that hit the Thumbs Down button, IT'S ON like Donkey Kong
ОтветитьVG. But as always with street tours - one wishes the Traffic could be masked. & It'll only get worse.
ОтветитьThanks! Nice walk and you came right past my home, so I was able to share it with my friends who haven't made it out to see me yet.
ОтветитьEnjoyed the walking tour, thank you! Used to live in a shotgun house near Magazine & Tchoupitoulas a few years back. Miss the city and hope to visit this year! 👍💙
