Is it possible to request Greg Reszel by name for a complete setup on a new guitar purchased from Sweetwater?

Fretting at the 12th is flat no matter how I change string length with saddle. How can I troubleshoot that?

So if it’s in tune open strung but out of tune on the harmonic is that when you adjust the screws?

I don't know how many years I have been practicing with a guitar with the intonation messed up. This was an awesome tutorial for my first time setting up an electric guitar. The sound of everything is a hundred times better. Chords or scales I thought I was playing badly sound amazing!

Ok, but what do you do when the saddle is already as low as can be, but it's still sharp?

When the twelfth fret notes are equal to their corresponding harmony pitches then the bar chords between the nut and seventh fret are not in tune with the lower cost guitars.

I started playing in 1961 when I was 9 years old. I'm 71 now and I still play. I've also been doing setups over 30 years and this is one of the best tutorials I've seen. This guy knows his stuff. Great video, thank you.

Acho q o suarez é uma contratação muito acima da do Valencia. Até porque a contratação do Rochet ta sendo melhor que a do valencia no proprio co-irmao

Buying my first beginner bass from Sweetwater in a couple of weeks!! They make the customer so comfortable- There’s Nothing like feeling you are talking to someone who care’s versus someone who just works at a retail store . A completely different experience. Never rushed on the phone .

While youre struggling to get intonation to an accuracy of 1/1000th of a semitone...keep in mind the fact that the average human ear can't distinguish intonation errors of that magnitude. Anything less than 7 cents is wasted energy. The popular analogy is micrometering a brick.

my intonation is off on the A string. I moved the saddle back even to the fardest, it did nothing still the same. I go ok it's the other way so I do it twice again putting it at the fardest it still off. lol bottom line? your guess is as good as mine. forget about it is my answer.

Doesn't intonation put the string out of tune in the rest of the string. You tune the 12th and that throws the open note out. So you have to decide on the middle error between the open and 12th.

Not true at all. Do not learn from this guy. This is the basics, and just the intro to intonation a string precisely. The complete way is to do it while hanging on your strap, and you also need to check at 3rd fret and 15th fret. And continue to adjust saddles until it is at best at all 4 tuning points. He is not telling you the real pro secrets. Great video for beginners though.

My cheap clip-on tuner tells me my newly assembled guitar is perfectly intonated with the saddles in a straight line and zero adjustment. I need to invest in a decent tuner it seems!

Outstanding explanation of the finer points of intonation! A couple of suggestions: for those of us who are brand new to guitars it would be helpful for the camera to show that you re-tuned after each turn of the screwdriver. Also, it would help if you explained which way you were turning the screwdriver. Some of us (me, anyway) are coming to this with no guitar tech knowledge whatsoever. Thank you for this easy to understand video!
