ОтветитьThe worst thing about waterfall graphics is the vertical speed at the top is the same as the bottom. Look at the bottom of the waterfall, the water looks SO slow, because you expect it to be accelerated as it falls.

awesome vid. My Request is I wanna see a breakdown of your conveyor belt mesh and code. You guys have one of the best 3d belt systems I would really love a deep dive on your belt system to show what you are doing. Is it mostly material vertex shifting or si it literally rotating / lerping with actors attached? Teach me master I am ready to learn.

A thing about the object limit. . . .
Just because you put a thing in the OPTIONS menu for game settings, does not mean you officially "support" it. It's an "option" that gamers can use or leave alone, like so many of the other settings in software.
All you have to do is exactly what you did in the video. You leave a warning that if the person increases the max object number and their hardware can't support it, there may be crashes or save file corruptions. So back up your save and use at your own risk.
To curb people trying to lie to you to cover their own stupidity, (and maybe you're already doing this) just include the maxObjectNumber in the crash debug file so you can see if they changed it and and see if that is what is causing the problems for them.
as someone who has had the wind taken out of their sails while playing due to performance issues with large factories, it was actually really cool to hear about the work going into optimizing the game :)

ОтветитьAre you going to make the Conveyor Wall Wholes work the same way HyperTube Hole & Pipe Wall Holes work?!
I really hope so now you've shown it can be done now with HyperTubes, we want off center single holes, staggered triples and all sorts we can do with the current method.
If you replace the Wall Panels with holes with just a single Window you can add a hole too I think it add oh so much!
