There is one thing that I cannot make out: how is it possible to be so blind to something so evident as veneration we are due to the saints, to Virgin Mary and especially, to the Eucarist?

The entire debate is a case in point why the spectator should become catholic: you have two sincere believers convicted the Holy Spirit is in them. Both are reading the same scripture and arriving at opposite conclusions inspite of their very thoughtful reasoning. So how can the observer decide who is right?

Answer: see which interpreter and interpretation has legitimate apostolic authority backing it.

The right-side dumb-ass was constantly interrupting the left-side guy, and the left-side guy voice is so annoying that I can barely pay attention to the debate. I am not sure, maybe it's the JBL WAVE 200. I think he's forcing his voice to be lower than it have to be to look more "manish".

What is that voice? It's disruptive for the debate TBH. Is he a smoker? hahaha

Here is the argument to end all arguments. Mike admits that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit does not occur until the Day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. This is the first time in Salvation history that God introduces His Church to the world. The first time that the Full Gospel was preached by the Apostles under the direction of the Holy Spirit. This was an extremely important Day for all Christians and still is right down to this very day and beyond. So don't you know that God had to get everything right on this Day as it sets the stage for all of mankind for all time. So answer this question: exactly when did those first converts to the faith receive forgiveness of sins and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit? Was it the moment they first believed in vs. 37, or was it when they were Baptized? The proof is in the pudding. Answer that question honestly, and you will reject Protestantism and accept the Catholic doctrine of Sacramental Salvation.

Grace saves, and sin condemns. It is that simple. As long as you remain in Grace then you are saved. When you sin then you lose that Grace and you are no longer saved - you are severed from Christ. With Grace you are grafted in, and with sin you are cut off. All of this is straight from the Bible so why muddy the waters with all kinds of personal interpretations to suit ones own personal feelings. Keep it simple.

This is why time limits are important. Because of people like Mike. MIke proposes the prayer to listen to each other. Stated he was not about denominating the conversation. Goes on to not listen, rather looking up his next point while Alex speaks, constantly speaking over Alex… dominates conversation.

Though sometimes I can feel these conversations and/or debates can get ugly and can lead people away from Christ for the sake of arguing for our own pride, this made me motivated to get more firm in my knowledge of the Scriptures. I’m very impressed how both sides are able to very quickly and accurately rattle off verses to support every argument. Though I have my opinions about the topics and agree more with one than another this was great. Very impressive.

If he have certainty about hes salvation how big must be his fate imagine that, for sure bigger than a mustard seed because he talks with nothing less than pure conviction maybe he could show us how to move mountains

I could be wrong, but it sounds like Mike’s take on salvation is predestination… anyone who loses faith is just someone who never even had true faith to begin with. Even new converts he says who are on fire for the lord and then burn out, they were never really a REAL believer, and he justifies it at one point saying that would God give someone the Holy Spirit if he knew they would lose the faith and not fulfill his promise of salvation? God always opens the door to the promise but it’s up to us to follow through. He Then goes on to continually cast doubts about people who lose faith saying well the holy spirit never dwelt within them anyways because if they did they would have never lost faith…the entire OT is the story of people, especially Israel as a people, who we are told God was with them and the spirit truly was amongst them, even Adam and Eve in paradise was with God, but all of these people lost faith despite God truly being with them.. and of course they regain it and the cycle continues…you could even argue the apostles did the same when Jesus was taken and crucified… but I pray he continues to grow, bring others to Christ and ultimately all back to Catholicism.

There can be endless debates about this but if only people would spend 15 to thirty minutes a day for a month in front of the Eucharist no debate will be needed.

Protestants need to realize that if they can prove the Catholic Church wasn't founded by Christ, then they are actually proving that Christ was never really God and we are still lost to our sins.

As Pope Francis teaches, the name of God is mercy. The thought of loosing my salvation is a great fear as a Catholic, but because I love Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit I wouldn't commit a mortal sin anyway. If St. Paul couldn't finish the race what hope is there for the rest of us? It's very much the case of needing the Mercy of God .

Dont like the laughing and interrupting that Mike is doing... That's not ok at all... puffing his chest,... great way to hold your peace, calm and respect Alex... way to go... I wish you were allowed to speak a little more without the interruption and laughter responses of Mike. No need to be so defensive, thought this was a convo? Why laugh and make faces at Alex's answers? Anyway... both STILL genuinely did good and had a great conversation... I hope more to come, and THANK GOD for the mediator!!!! Well done!!

The debate was over 5 minutes in. The Protestant doesn’t even know history. He said “the difference between the Catholic Church and the Christian Church.” Protestants don’t think Catholics are “Christian” even though they were literally the original Christians. They weren’t coined the term “catholic” (which simply means universal) until after the Protestant reformation. Glad I converted from the lies of Protestantism to the Church Christ founded.
