all I tattoo is honey dew I’ve done some decent pieces already on there from outlining and shading and I like my results I think I’m ready for skin but don’t have the funds atm to get all the sterile wipes and soaks etc

I have always been a painter, I'm decent at drawing. I struggle to come up with things to draw since I enjoy painting landscapes mostly. Either way, I've found that I'm really good with coloring/shading "flash art" or even tweaking a design a client brings, but for someone to say I want........ I have a hard time invisioning it. Hopefully that makes sense lol

Tattooing is a contracted craft. I've found that when I go get a tattoo those who charge by the hour are still begginers and trying to milk the most money. Experienced tattooers give you a straight contract price because they know what's gonna happen to do the job.

Can I use vasaline during tatooing?

An additional tip: Don't compare your evolution with the evolution of others. If someone evolves faster than you and makes tattoos better or bigger than you, maybe their conditions are more conducive to learning than yours. Many beginning tattooists have other obligations with another job, or college, children, family. Perhaps you have less time to devote to studying tattooing than someone who doesn't have all these responsibilities and has more time and money to invest. Give it time and keep studying and training. Our journeys are different, but the goal is the same.

Bro you are very helpful. I used to tattoo at a shop 13 years ago but the artist I apprenticed under was a drug addict low life who didn't teach me right. I went out on my own and had bad anxiety like I was scared I couldn't be good at it so I quit. All this time later and I know for a fact I can and to relax. I wish I would have seen this content a long time ago.

How do you keep the ink to stay dark??

I find drugs help alot with concentration, especially when tattooing on some fine womans tits or monkey lips.

First off, I just wanted to say that I love your channel and refer to it all the time when I have questions. I wanted to ask you a question and figured this video would be the best place to post my question in the comment section. Since I am still in the beginner stages, I am currently ONLY working on fake skins. Since I am not working on actual skin right now, It is safe to 're-use' needle cartridges. I had heard that you can boil needles to re-use them, but since these are cartridges, I'm not sure if the plastic would melt or if that would even be a good idea. So my question to you is, how can I efficiently clean and dry needle cartridges so that they can be used more the once. I am working on small tattoos on fake skin, and when I finish a small tattoo, I know that the needle still has much life left in it. So I figured I would ask you what is your recommendation on how to clean and dry needle cartridges for re-use.

I have sum confusion. I am using a dragon hawk tattoo machine. The tip for the needle adjustment comes off. I need to sterilize don't I? Not 100% sure if I should use an ultra sonic and then dry heat to sterilize? what would you recommend for sterilization? one more question ,bought a dry heat sterilizer for machine off amazon, went with recommended sterilization pouches,low and behold they are NOT for this unit! where should I buy dry heay pouches with color indicators..By the way thanks for your videos,Ive gained a pile of knowledge watching them!!!

What you put on paper is what you'll put on skin. Always practice and visualize from when you're drawing to when your tattooing

I bought a tattoo machine recently and was starting to be discouraged bc my friend well some brothers I know from hs are tat artists at one time 2 of them owned a shop but now only one does and the middle brother works there so I asked about a apprenticeship and I have gotten no reply so now I'm determined to prove I can do it bc my assumption is thwy are laughing at me

I've been wanting to get in to tattooing for many years, but never had the confidence in myself to even research supplies or tips on getting started. I was finally talked into it by some family and ordered myself about $300 worth of starter stuff and watching these videos has really put my mind at ease about getting started. Thank you so much for the videos. I'm excited to start practicing on fake skin and myself, and my husband said he would gladly guinea pig for me 😁

I have another tip, don’t watch at what pace others are going and how fast other apprentices are tattooing etc, go at your own pace and in your own headspace it’s not a competition
