I am hopeful that over the next 5 years, Toyota/Lexus will be able to transfer its ICE reliability into its new generation EVs. They do have the essential philosophies of Lean and Continuous Improvement perfected, but EV tech (end product and especially production systems) are a new world and it may not be easy to translate. But they can do it.
ОтветитьHow about they run this same scenario ON 10 YEAR OLD CARS !!!
If a vehicle has any major issues in the first 3 years it's not worth owning!!!!
where is VW group cars like VW,Skoda and Seat?
ОтветитьThe Front-End of the 2025 Camry looks like a Ferrari Purosangue 🤔😍
ОтветитьLooks like consumer reports must be taking bribes instead of advertising because some of this list is absurd. Guess i can no longer trust CR.
ОтветитьHow is Volkswagen top 10 on the list but then every vehicle is below average?
ОтветитьI’ve got a 2006 Porsche Cayman S manual. For two years, the only issue I’ve had was replacing gas cap and light bulb. However, I did replace my clutch and flywheel which was $4500. I was lucky I had warranty and it covered flywheel cause it was not a wear and tear item. Ie. clutch. Nothing rattles, drives like new, engine roars.
ОтветитьI find consumer reports to be an unreliable source who will print things that just aren’t true. For example, in their review of the 2023 Tucson Hybrid they say there is no tachometer when you can go to settings and choose between tachometer or HEV battery info individually for every drive mode. Lazy and completely false information.
ОтветитьI'm not sure CR has the credibility they think they have - or once had.
ОтветитьI noticed consumer report doesn't test many cars. It's bizarre that they can determine most reliable cars, if many cars aren't reviewed by them.
ОтветитьSubarus are funny because they had the worst cvt’s when they came out and they aren’t built very great, but they are simple and cheap so for like 150,000 they are great, but after that just junk em lol
Ответитьwhy isn't mitsubishi on the list?
ОтветитьCutting edge technology. I retired after 30 years for Toyota's tech field. We've came a long way
ОтветитьYeah Lexus, and Toyota have great cars.
ОтветитьHybrids are not the most reliable vehicle omg ! The cost to replace a 40 cell battery pack in a Ford escape hybrid was a total of $11,000 on a car that was already eight years old and over 100,000 miles do the math hope your hybrid battery pack doesn’t go bad on you which it needs to be replaced at every 70,000 to 100,000 miles Wake up people
ОтветитьSubaru fixed the head gasket issue
ОтветитьConsumer Reports & Edmond
ОтветитьWTF... you did not talk about Mini being #3 ! Is that true.. what models? Or is this ONLY a hybrid list ?
ОтветитьA mini!! Cr lost all credibility!
ОтветитьCorolla Hybrid is a Prius with a Corolla body. It will do well.
ОтветитьHow tf is a BMW X5 the 4th most reliable vehicle in the US but a Prius doesn't even break top 10? Calling BS here haha
ОтветитьI bought a 2023 BMW X3 and so far it’s been the most fun car to drive to date with their new B48 engine. No issues after this first year. Have previously owned Mazda, Nissan, Honda and Toyotas. Sold my 2010 Prius with 235k miles without replacing any hybrid battery cells, however it did start to burn oil at 100k miles where Toyota admitted the issue but wouldn’t fix it. So the ratings seem okay.
ОтветитьAs a multiple Porsche owner using one of them as an every-day driver, I do not find the good Porsche reliability rating surprising. I am comparing it to my previous everyday driver which was a Lexus. My experience is just as good with both. We’re talking about an RX and a 911, both around 10 years old.
ОтветитьI dunno about Toyota and Lexus. Seems the reliability hype is overblown. At this point, it looks like mass brainwashing.
ОтветитьWhy is Mitsubishi not on the list? Are they sold in US?
ОтветитьIn my personal experience of ownership, Tesla model 3 is as reliable as my Lexus NX. Zero issue! Also so far 2015 Nissan Rogue owned since brand new has very reliable with no transmission or major issues at 95K miles. Maintenance and how you drive is the key for reliability as long as your car has no major design flaws in its system.
ОтветитьHonestly, BMW is surprised me
ОтветитьThat tacoma wasn’t mentioned once???
ОтветитьConsumer reports sucks
ОтветитьMerc and WW dont like cold and damped weather. When this happends, i many times see two or more cars which have stopped and waiting for help. And these two cars really sucks, because 80 percent of all cars stops, its these two brands. Toyota in other hand, its gets months every time i see them stopped. I drive 45 000 km a year, and drive alot in wintertime. Over 10 years, i maybe have watched one Toyota Yaris by the road.
ОтветитьMercedes might be at the bottom, but are probably the safest cars out there overall. They have the strongest roof strenght of any brands in iihs tests and rolling over is one of the most deadly ways of crashing
ОтветитьSeems like my trust with CR is coming back. We all knew the 4Runner is the most reliable vehicle in existence, glad to see it at the top.
ОтветитьI just traded my 2015 Highlander for a Grand Highlander Hybrid. I thought I would miss the V6. Frankly, the 4 cylinder hybrid with CVT is fine. Not going to win a race, but I have gotten up to 42 mpg on a tank of gas.
Ответитьhybrid battery is bound to fail(because current batteries are garbage) and its quite the expensive part, it has warranty of 6 years so if you're buying second hand hybrid you can already prepare like 6k+ for new one
ОтветитьWent from the #1 most reliable car on the planet, the Mazda MX-5 to a Hyundai Kona N and tbh, Hyundai's build quality feels more sturdy and solid. DCT is a bit shaky but that's a universal DCT quirk I guess.
ОтветитьGenesis is Korean not japan
ОтветитьKIA's improvement in reliability is great news!!!
ОтветитьTheir vehicle ratings has been unreliable for years. I don't trust one bit. FYI, CR is not a nonprofit organization.
ОтветитьI think your left wing bias has you defending everything EV
ОтветитьI think people tend to forget that your car broke down about once a week or maybe once month If you had a really good one, back in the 60s and '70s.
Even the cheapest/crappiest car these days will go 100k - 150k miles with relatively few problems and most of the problems today are software related. I drive a 2008 Toyota 4runner but it doesn't mean I'm brand loyal. People tend to forget that the Tacoma and 4Runner frames were rusting to the point of breaking. Kirk just said that the Toyota BZ4X wheels were falling off. Toyota recalled every single one they made.
Nobody is perfect, new model vehicles will always have defects, and technology is advancing extremely fast right now. Buy whatever you like that suits your lifestyle and your wallet. For me, I want to completely get away from gas so my next vehicle will be a BEV. No more stopping for gas on the way to or coming home from work, no oil changes, expensive timing belts, spark plugs, squeaky belts, leaky radiators and the other 200 problems that go along with gas engines.
My issue is the cars that they rate as super reliable just aren’t appealing to me and I rather take a chance on a vehicle that is appealing to me but isn’t reliable to them.
ОтветитьToyota #1
ОтветитьWhat I never understood is how a manufacturer can be high on the list for one year, and then the next year it's 10 spots down despite offering the SAME vehicles both years. IMO, consumer reports has become as ridiculous as J.D Power
Ответитьwhere is the Prius??
ОтветитьNot just auto makers.. NOBODY is all that good at software these days, because software, like may other things in our economy, is marketing and revenue driven, not quality driven
ОтветитьWhere is Land Rover and Jaguar? Does the scale not go that low?
ОтветитьAcura Integra comes with only a turbo engine. How can be reliable for the long term?
ОтветитьPeople have been BSing about reliability on the web for years😂😂😂 Hybrid vehicles are more reliable because Toyota sells the vast majority of hybrid vehicles. Toyota is reliable, hence hybrids are reliable. The message is the same as it has been for years...BUY a TOYOTA or HONDA...it's easy! Pickups rate poor in reliability because Ford sells a lot of garbage!
ОтветитьGenesis is Korean, not a Japanese brand!!
ОтветитьMazda should be ahead of subaru and honda.
Ответить
