you what's funny about diesel engines, diesel is verry low octane, so low that for about 20-50 years it was considered as waste from producing gasoline, yet the engines only start at a 1;16 compression ratio and tend to be turbocharged at well

The Tatra V8 was a hemi, and air-cooled!
Felix Wankel, the engine inventor, drove a Tatra!

I don't care if that Tatra V8 had a 1:1 compression ratio - I WANT ONE!
What a stunningly stylish looking vehicle.

I have to say i had so many different cars but the one i like to drive the most was a 1968 430ci Buick Wildcat ,it fired about every 4th lamp post was smooth & reliable, and more bottom end than a fat bottom girl , on a good day i could get appx 12 mpg ,but petrol prices killed it for me ! /UK

40s /early 50s they low reving engines in the UK they were reliable & easy to work on then we got the screamers high rpm engines ,and old Standard Vangard or an old Humber /Rover would last for decades ,if you had one fitted with hall effect ignition & fuel injection it would last for a lifetime !

Hello VisioRacer, thank you for this interesting video. You certainly did a lot of research again. May I " seduce" you to cover TURBO COMPOUNDING. I am sure your subscribers will be interested. It came along on the Douglas DC 7, Boeing B 29, Napier Nomad and even Scania used it in their trucks in the 1990's. Greetings from the Netherlands.

That's crazy 3.8 to 1 Compression ratio and the 1 close to the end of the video u said it ran on gas and k 1 because of the low 4.5 to 1 Ratio allowed it to do that I've never new that was possible!! 2 cool !! I've got a 2 stroke wore out maybe I will try k 1 just to see if it will run !!

After WW2 there were heaps of US army blitzwagen trucks around Australia as part of Army surplus sales. They ere also in Army use up until the 1960s. They were made by Studebaker and Ford and, I think, Chevrolet. They had a compression ratio of 5.7 to 1 and the would run on kerosene after you started them on petrol. A lot of them went to farm and logging use. They were common in by boyhood, while they would be curiosities today.

Like the Model T ....low compression means they can run on rubbing alcohol.. only then will they prove superior....no one in this present generation realizes how precious that type of vehicle was in a Great depression like in 1929

Why do Americans use kph instead of kmh?
I mean... Kmh literally means KiloMeters/Hour.
Kph is not just unnecessary, but it kinda could mean KiloPerHour.

Please just use the best definition kmh, so America is in sync with the rest of the world 😁
