Do the key manufacturers keep a copy of your key like ledger nano x has done?!
ОтветитьYour video continues to be helpful and relevant.
Did you realize Paypal has made it impossible to set up 2FA with a Yubikey, unless the user downloads their App 1st?
I'm stunned. If you're aware of a work around, so someone like myself can use the Yubikey on a desktop or laptop without the need to
convert to a phone, it might make a great video, as I'm sure many others will soon find themselves in the same spot.
What if they have remote desktop viewers on your laptop? Do they bypass the Yubikey?
ОтветитьThe dilemma of security....if your backup plan is weak then the key is useless. However, if your key or keys get lost or stolen then you no longer have access to your accounts. Sounds like an all or nothing scenario. There has to be something in the middle like some way to utilize biometrics.
ОтветитьA few newbie questions here. If you lose your key, it gets destroyed or isn't working for whatever reason, are you pretty much locked out of whatever accounts you use this on? Also, you state that you should have a backup key so does this necessitate setting up both keys on every site and if so, how does the site know which key to use?
Ответитьthanks! my yubikeys finally arrived from sweden <3 and i am enjoying it! thanks so much!!! *Edit thanks so much Mr. (not) Spy Expath!!!
Ответитьeasy and simple tutorial
ОтветитьHello thank you so much for making this video , This is just what i needed as my yubi's are being shipped , Thank you sir .
ОтветитьWould I be about to use a Security Key C NFC The YubiKey 5 C NFC to create passkeys for my APPs and Websites? Or do I need to get The YubiKey 5 C NFC. What would be the reason way I would want to get The YubiKey 5 C NFC over the Security Key C NFC
Ответитьcan i reconfigure if i want to disable the requirement to touch option?
ОтветитьIf you have a 20+ character password of jumbled letters and numbers - isnt that enough? Isnt 2-factor over the top with such strong passwords?
Ответитьquick update: google authenticator does "online backups" too, so it's kinda cloud based as well...
ОтветитьWhat's the Best yubikey 5 NFC or yubikey security key NFC? Whats the diference?
Ответитьthanks dear
ОтветитьI have a son I want to keep off of the internet when he is not being supervised. Is there any device enabling pc lockdown...as opposed to accounts?
Ответитьif i set up 2fa yubikey with a bank account on 1 computer then log in on a different computer do i need the key on both computers?
ОтветитьOne thing that bothers me is that anytime I don't have a key on me, the online services always offer the old alternative methods, so what do these keys really offer? I have many Yubikeys, but this has been a point of mental contention for me for some time now.
ОтветитьAre you still required to provide a password IN ADDITION TO the Yubikey? Or is the Yubikey the only needed device to login?
ОтветитьThanks for the Tutorial!!
ОтветитьNFC can be hacked by 🐬 0
ОтветитьI don't want to enter username and password, only reason I bought these things and as it turns out they are practically worthless, and really a pain in the ass to set up, all kinds of configuration problems and usually don't work worth a damn
ОтветитьThanks man, Imma buy it soon!
ОтветитьI've just bought two of the type A Security Key NFC ones. The 5 series is more than twice the price in the UK. I'll stick to using a free authenticator app for that additional functionality. It's a pity they don't have a version with type A on one end, and type C on the other. Only two of the machines I use have type C. In hindsight, I should maybe have got the type C for future proofing, and used adaptors left plugged in to the devices, but I didn't think of that. It's better to phase out the need for adaptors over time, as type C takes over, rather than increase the need to use them.
ОтветитьSo, if i have 1 key and it.s connected to my pc, and i.m like 15 feet away using my phone, and i wanna login somewhere, i have to get up, go get the key, and only then i.ll be able to log in? it may be secure, but not practical at all
ОтветитьI've watched and rewatched your security videos. First, I moved away from Lastpass, then I started using longer, generated passwords. I already used 2FA and am now using this together with my YubiKeys and their authenticator app.
ОтветитьHow much does a subscription to Youbikey cost a year?
ОтветитьThis is all so new to me. Thanks!
ОтветитьI really enjoy your video! Thank you!
ОтветитьCan you do me a favor please 🙏 need you to help me out on something, it requires you making a video.
ОтветитьThis was to basic, i like to learn all the stuff in manager....what are all the options ....the guide and their webpage sucks. Nothing for a new user to guide you through!
Ответитьhow to back-up the yubikey?
ОтветитьI don't want to use a damn password and the setup does not work as advertised, noit at all
Ответитьyou talk too much, get to the f_king point
ОтветитьIn an effort to strengthen the security of my online accounts, I enable 2FA using my phone number to get the key via SMS (no a security hardware key) and when TMobile got hacked, all my accounts got compromised because the hackers reset my passwords and they were getting a copy of my SMS.
ОтветитьThanks for the information, just purchased me 4 of those. Can you please let me know if I setup the yubikey as my authentication should I remove all other 2FA options? Let’s say remove the sms option? I’ll be glad to know. Thanks 🙏 again
ОтветитьHey, i just got my Yubico key thanks to you.
ОтветитьHow can I use that touch yubikey as 2FA on my "rar"?
ОтветитьDO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, unless you know EXACTLY how to use and install it! They offer NO SUPPORT whatsoever. Also, once you spend 50 or 60 bucks on this product, they highly recommend that you spend another 50 or 60 bucks on a spare. This is called bait and switch! This is a very unscrupulous company. Recommend not doing business with them!

How to setup the backup yubikey? Is there a tutorial on that?
ОтветитьDo you worry about getting mugged if you carry it around with you?
ОтветитьTo be honest I don't see the point of having this physical key when there are many apps (the google authenticator for example) that does the same thing. It seems to me an extra hassle to plug-in the key, open a app in the computer to get the codes. Why not check the codes directly on a single app on your phone? Plus, losing this key will give a you a big headache, sure you can have a backup but it is a tedious job to keep the master and backup keys in sync, for example when adding new logins.
I guess the physical key gives people a bigger feeling of security but in reality it is just a good as a free app on your phone.
So on the phone you just hold the key to the phone but what happens with a PC when it doesn't plug in anywhere?
ОтветитьThe yubikey also survives the washer I accidentally had to test this out and it still works like a charm 😂
ОтветитьYou know what I can’t figure out? Is how to make my iPad Pro use my Yubikey NFC. Where exactly do I place the key on the iPad Pro - 12.9”?
ОтветитьThe average user, the ones that would have weak passwords, won't ever get these things to work. (IF THEY EVEN WORK AT ALL). It is way to complicated. Before you buy, do a BBB search for Yubico. You will find they rate 1 out of 5 stars. There is a reason for that! Yubikeys are a huge waste of money. I don't see where they do anything at all. They DO NOT stop anyone from logging into anything! After setting mine up, absolutely nothing requires me to plug in the physical key. I setup the key for a Windows login, with Yubico's software. Even their website will tell you that it doesn't work with Windows 11. But it doesn't work with Windows 10 either. You simply bypass the Yubico software as long as you know the Windows username and password. It's a scam! You won't know that they don't work, UNTIL you get hacked. Again look at the Better Business Bureau, they have a D- rating.
ОтветитьI have been searching for a clear answer to how to use YubiKey as a 2FA for Microsoft Onedrive Personal Vault. All discussions that I have read so far confuse me. Am I missing something? Have you discussed this anywhere? Please advise. Thanks.
ОтветитьNice video
