Have you tried it on the highway, how loud is the hum in the interior, wind, mirrors, mine is a 2014 gasoline model, it has 50,000 km, but it is brutally loud at highway speeds..

Point 3 of the annoying things is actually one of my favourite things.
Because when you wash your car you open your window without getting any wipe spots.

I had it in my prelude but all other cars I've had wipe it.

i really want one but i’m reluctant to get a diesel engine, i feel like they’re a dying breed and will cause me problems in the future. would have to be petrol for me

Currently driving a Mazda 2 sport 2012 petrol Cat N.

Just brought it as a first car and I thought if it's a cat N and I do have a bumb who cares.
But I have totally fallen in love with them.

I think my next car will be a Mazda 6 or a CX 5.

I need to say that I’m really missing my soul red Mazda.
I think I’m going back to Mazda.

Mazda Diesel engines are notoriously bad and the Petrol engines are one of the best. Dear Carwow, has Mazda solved the high carbon build-up and engine flooding problems on this facelifted model?

I have a 2014 version of this and have nothing but issues with the dpf, fuck them.

If you live in Ireland and can afford a new 6, or know anybody that can and wants one, you better buy one quick, as it looks like Mazda is about to kill them off for good, with no sign of a fourth generation in sight!!

Indeed I know that Mazda has been constantly refreshing the 6 since 2013, while they released a fourth gen 3 about four years ago, but as "old' as it is, the third gen 6 is still great and it's been great that you could still buy a new one when so many other companies are killing off saloons altogether and certainly not many around making them the way Mazda still make the 6, petrol, naturally aspirated, manual first and foremost and just the right size!!

But indeed while we've still been able to buy the 6 saloon in three specs for many years, the estate lost all above its' base spec about three years ago, while it was the opposite way in the U.K.

But the biggest warning sign that the new Irish 6s are running out is that starting about two weeks ago, while you could still select your desired spec, gearbox and colour etc, all the little extras like puddle lights and side skirts etc are gone...

While looking at the U.K.s' Mazda website, the 6 is now totally gone there and in other countries!!

Sure we can still buy a 3 and its' about 90% as good as the 6 , but it's smaller and rather plain at the rear!

Anyway, as said, buy a new one when you can!! 😯😐 .

Mazds has terrible dated infotainment IMO

Small center console box,
No cigarettes lighter in middle of the console ,
No button for locl or unlock centeral locking
No button for boot release
No fog lights
In case of led light dead, needs to change whole headlight.
No struts to hold front bonnet
No full sizel spare tyre

With recent announcements of expansion of the ulez I have had to start planning ahead. Just discovered these hidden gems, i knew mazda cars were good but just never realised how good until I started my research recently. Because most of my daily commute is on the motorway a diesel (at least for the next 7-8 years) is the obvious choice. Not a big fan of hybrids or electrics (until I have to!) Very seriously considering these cars as my next car. I was getting pulled into thinking I needed one of the big germen branded cars. But these mazdas are fanatastic. Your getting excellent car with all the extras for ur money on the used market. A real bang for your buck.

not having everything electrically operated is a good thing, nothing wrong with a old fashioned hood latch or a fuel cap opener. why are people so soft these days?

That 2.2 skyactive engine is a disaster. I'm a mechanic and I won't even take them anymore. They are the most problematic engines I've dealt with. So may times they need a full rebuild or new engine after even 40k km. Stay away. Beautiful car when running well and Beautiful to drive. But they are trouble. Big problems with dpf too. Most diesels doing small milage these days are anyways but this is a bad engine. Pity because gorgeous looking car

Personally I still prefer the Mondeo over the Mazda 6 since 2002 till today...but this Mazda deserves recognition

thanks for great test. Although I love mazda3, we are planning to have a kid, So, I am concerned to go with 3. As I watched your test, realized 3 would be to small and 6 is the right one for us.
Just I am kind of confused about buying the turbo or not. I like more power but I want a reliable car. I am a safe driver and don’t need a fast car, I just want a decent car which act good on highways too.
What would be your suggestion for me?

This is the only Masda which has my interest because it follows what a car should be, as a bmw fan this has natural features especially in the interior, the design isn’t all sexy but rather distinct and pleasing
Edit: also it’s simple and he interior is quality and mixes retro and modern which is cargasm for me
