Awesome
ОтветитьHi, newcomer here. I like your easy and thorough style. Showing the parts up close out of the wall is very helpful. In Las Vegas, most of us have CPVC pipe coming out and not copper. I wonder how much that changes things ? Thanks :)
ОтветитьWhat causes the valve to shut off by itself
ОтветитьVery nice video. Thanks
ОтветитьThis is a simply PERFECTLY done video on this matter. THANK YOU! 😎👍👍
ОтветитьThank you so much for posting this video! This was exactly the information I’ve been searching for & you explain everything so well! This has been so much help for me!
ОтветитьWhat do you do if you turn off the water to the entire house but the shut-off valve continues to leak water? That's my problem and I'm afraid of a flood if I mess with the shut-off valve. The shut-off valve is really old and stiff and I want to replace it.
ОтветитьAlways easier free handing in demo area. Down inside the bathroom cabinet wrench or plier work takes on the dexterous factor. Leverage and torque strength can be tricky.
ОтветитьThank you very much. You do a nice job of explaining the 2 different types of compression & push-in valves.
ОтветитьGreat video! Now I'm not scared to do a quick fix like this.
ОтветитьVery good tutorial! Thank you very much.
ОтветитьI just had my home destroyed becauss a shutoff valve budst and leaked for 8 hrs while we were at work (-_-)
ОтветитьThis video just saved me hundreds of dollars
ОтветитьThank you, was apprehensive about the push on valve because it spins, really good to get confirmation that it doesn’t leak 👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьAdding aggravation, a kitchen remodel used the old knob style valves, and when I went to work on a leaky faucet valve, I found the undersink shutoff would not fully close off the water supply - so I now must shut water off in the crawl space, so I can replace the feeder lines under the counter with modern, quarter-turn valves, available in a convenient flexible line/valve/Sharkbite combo costing less than separate pieces. Sometimes plumbing contractor's stingy attitudes are bewildering, scrimping on a few cents and frustrating the home owner years after.
ОтветитьThanks, homie! 🙏
ОтветитьCould I put two shut valve one above another
ОтветитьExcellent overview. Well done 👍
ОтветитьWhy to replace it? And how to stop shut off the water from entering the copper pipe without running your heater hot! ???😅
ОтветитьGreat information, smooth presentation!!
ОтветитьGood video, but the title seems misleading. It's a video about replacing shutoff valves, not repairing them
ОтветитьThank you for a through explanation you helped our home much appreciated Sir !
ОтветитьThank you so very much!! I'm installing an IKEA vanity and installed a Dahl 5/8" shut-off valve with too long of a pipe sticking out of the wall? I now need to take the valve off but I'm not sure the ferrule is still "good"? My son and I tightened the heck out if to stop dripping :( We'll probably need to buy new ferrule, if these are sold separately, or buy new valves all together.
ОтветитьGreat video, very helpful, thank you! 🍻
ОтветитьI"m never going to trust any kind of push-on valve. Solder is best, compression fittings will do if you're scared of a torch.
ОтветитьThank you. Very helpful.
ОтветитьThank you! Knew about shark bites- broke shut off valve to dishwasher. Tried turn off valved to that supply leaking worse . I think Just replace All with Shark bites
ОтветитьSo well done. Explained simply; well illustrated.
ОтветитьOutstanding video - No fluff, no annoying music, no aggrandizing. Well done!
ОтветитьWhy not just replace the valve stem?
Ответитьi, have a angle stop tool remover that de mounts the metal compression ring by pulling the retaining nut out from the back. nice video.
ОтветитьThey keep improving with time! what is the best shut off valve of today ? (have old ones but do not leak.) Also how 2 or best way 2 lengthen a short flex hose around 1/2 "plus too short?
ОтветитьHe's the best at detailed explanations
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьHow about you don't do this and call a pro.. that way you don't cost yourself 400$ when everything is stripped and broken. Remember most homes plumbing is stiff and brittle due to water minerals. Having an amateur tinker around could cause some serious damage and cost. Plus us construction guys get to do our jobs the way they are supposed to be done.
ОтветитьThank you for all the wisdom and professional help when it comes to shut off valves. .
ОтветитьIsn’t it push in the pipe will stop in some reason instead drawing a line on the pipe?
Isn’t it cost no water come out if push too deep?
Or any other reason can’t push to maximum depth?
I stumbled onto this video at just the right time. My shut offs are all soldered on, I bought a threaded and a compression 1/4 turn valves. Thanks to your video, and you easy to understand instructions, I will be changing the broken shut off valve in my bathroom this morning. Fingers crossed. Thank you for the info!
ОтветитьGreat video! Super helpful 😊 thank you! Another plus-we have the same thumbs!! Very cool!!
ОтветитьDidn't cover whether or not to re-use old wall compression snut and ferrurle!
ОтветитьThank you for your video. It was extremely helpful and much appreciated !
ОтветитьSuper man!
I like the way you explained.
Nice video....great tips, especially showing various shutoff valves.
ОтветитьExcelente!
ОтветитьThanks for your tutorial, it was a great video and tips
ОтветитьExcellent!
ОтветитьIf anyone has any dreams of learning to do basic plumbing repair at home, I recommend you go buy a mop gas torch, a basic soldering set and some practice pipe and fittings and learn how to solder. Once you can solder pipe reliably everything is possible. Without soldering, everything is harder than it needs to be, more expensive, and less reliable.
