Imagine if killing one caused several to spawn in the area like they are following the sound of its death scream

Man this is spooky. Feels like the sort of monster that would mostly keep its distance when you’re at full health, but get much more aggressive if you took damage and only had a few hearts left. Something that, while a pain to fight on its own, becomes an enormous threat due to following you around and waiting until you’re fighting other mobs or trying to heal up from a fall.

This is why you make panic shelters, or in this regard, shelters used to stow common material like stone and dirt, then have a furnace for furnace things.
most importantly, doors, also imagine if this thing could black out torches, temporarily, thre is being scared then being annoyed.

This thing is like Nightmare Foxy from FNAF 4 when it stares at you stalking. Though I think the sounds are a bit goofy I would’ve gone for different sound design if I had made the mod.

The fact that it fuckin peeks makes this one of the scariest things that has ever been made for this game.

Some additions I'd consider:

When it takes enough damage it runs away

After 2 or 3 attacks to your shield, how about it just takes it from you?

It can hang upside down or on walls to watch you

Maybe I need to check the original videos a second time, but I could swear the noises the Cave Dweller is using are from SOMA.
Which is not a bad thing at all, because these noises really still pull the best kind of "just creepy enough", especially when you know it could be behind another wall hunting you down!
